I discovered a crack in my earphone port, have been using apple earphones, i guess we should stick to nokia earpieces.

Did you install the further two updates called Applications 1/2 and 2/2?
Also, once they have been installed goto Settings > Application manager > Installed apps then uninstall Conversations and Conversations server. You may need to reboot the phone.

just updated my nokia n8 to version 25.007 for product code 0599221......changes noticed... the qwerty portrait mode upgraded.....smoother scrolling....still luving the n8 though.....patiently awainting belle

dear ray,
my n8 still not display split screen even after anna update. but once i install universal search from betalabs, this application sometimes works in split screen sometime it's not.
for your info my set product code is 059DIF9. my software version is 022.014.262.03
please advice if you have solutions. others are also welcome to post yours....

Not all N8's hang. Mine certainly doesn't. Those that do are usually incorrectly configured or have faulty hardware.
Some software applications can also cause the phone to hang such as anti-virus software (which is completely unnecessary on the N8, so don't bother installing any).

The default lock code is 12345. However, the person you bought it from may have changed it so you should ask them.
If that's not possible, the only way to reset the code is to visit a Nokia Care Point to get the code reset. You will need to provide proof of purchase though.

To check available memory goto Menu > Office > File manager.
This will list all the available drives on your phone including any SD card you may have fitted.
For further details of what is using up space on an individual drive, long press on the drive you want more details on and select Details from the pop-up balloon.

Hey guys (and girls)! can anyone help me?
Today, my dad ordering this N8 for me and it will arrive 4-5 days like that. Somehow my friends told me , N8 always hang, isn't ? It will solve this problem by updating the firmware ?

I deleted the country maps(preinstalled)using ovi suite and kept only the mother country maps in my N8.it deleted properly no errors no issues.But i can't see the freed memory in my N8. How to check it

symbian is boring,and 680mhz processor is not speedy,occasionally it lags.
the reason i'm using n8 is because the features are very practical in daily life;
-camera: take picture of my growing baby
-excellent basic features;call,sms,battery life
-HDMI/tv-out:watch photo,video,movie on tv
-fm transmitter: use in car everyday
-USBOTG:edit&transfer office file urgently,watch video from usb drive,combine with fm transmitter ultimately become in-car entertainment device.
-gps:a good one,and free.
-tough built:eradicate the urge to handle it delicately,so can put it anywhere.already dropped on cement floor few times with no problems.
..and many other stuff i wont mention anymore.
at the moment no other phone have all these function in one package.
i have tried using galaxy s plus.surely a refreshed UI, but the only thing it is good at is to play around with apps and games,and surf the net with the big screen.
so i'm back using n8, aka keep n8ing..
