jake, 04 Oct 2011hi George its a nice phone,but hangs with symbian^3not with anna its a good choicestrange, N8's symbian is one of the most stable phone OS available. In addition, it's price is keep falling. If it continues, will definitely get it.

To whoever is considering buying N8.I am using this phone for last 8 months.I have upgraded to anna now.With anna major improvements are,
No crashing or freezing of phone or apps
Better battery life(30-40%)
Email client has become very slick
Better browser speed.
New camera UI and major improvements in video quality.and lots more.You can check other improvements everywhere.
Now with Belle expected in November,no phone can beat N8's value for money,as belle promises to make the UI very good with increased battery life and many other goodies.
So N8 owners rejoice and prospective buyers,rush there is no substitute to N8 even after 1 year.Best Camera,free GPS,HDMI port,FM transmitter,awesome build quality,call quality,great battery performance.What else do you need in a smartphone with such price.

N8?, 05 Oct 2011still no official anna update in USA! It's a shame! No anna update for the wealthiest coun... morehahaha USA wealthiest country ? when where how ? Nokia sells higher mobiles in India so we got ANNA asap same day when it launched :)but N8 is just awesome set.

Anna has a critical bug. Log application doesn't show any packet data and wifi connections. Nokia should fix this cr@p

pls help, my screen locks after just 10 secs of inactivity. I've set it to lock after 60 secs but still locks after 10 secs. Any other way to keep it open for a longer period?

george_k, 04 Oct 2011I am consdidering to buy N8 and i want an N8ing user to inform/advice me about:
1) If symbian... moreAs far as I know (after using N8 from the very beginning), Anna removed all the SW problems. Mind you, N8 has the least amount of RAM (256MB) of the four Symbian^3 phones (N8, C6-01, C7 & E7). So, the users who just press the 'menu' button to exit the programs will find their phone hang as the RAM will be quickly filled up. I always press & hold menu for the running programs & remove which I don't use at the moment. Second, my Orange N8 had purple tint in PR1.2, but went away after the Anna update. My wife's Green N8 didn't have purple tint in PR1.1, had it in PR1.2 & it went away in Anna update. So from that I can guaranty that the purple tint is NOT a HW problem. It will be gone when you update to Anna. One more thing, to knm, pls don't exaggerate about something you love so much, don't screw it up with lie. You said N8 has CBD (Clear Black Display), but it doesn't. Only C6-01 & E7 (among N8, C6-01, C7 & E7) has CBD. Please, know the device before describing it to someone else, don't mislead others.

This is a creative phrase line. When you eat continuously - you are eating, when you sleep continuously - you are sleeping, when you smile continuously - you are smiling. Same way, when you use N8 continuously - you are N8-ing. Understood? Sorry bro, but you disappointed me. Anyway, take care.

I'm waiting for the official release of symbian belle. My N8 got its anna update a month ago. It just got better. And if symbian belle can do more, that will be awesome. I can't wait for the symbian belle.

Guys N8 has proved to be the best smartfone ever...no fone even cmes close..now iam using belle since a month...and must admit...best nokia ever....i just finished my trip to ibiza and barcelona...they way N8 captured the snaps..tat even my sony digi cam failed...and low light snaps n8 rocked....i had pre downloaded the maps....and in the nites the gps saved me wen ever i lost my way....and now with belle Os...iam in love with my N8 allover again....waiting for nokia to launch a N8 successor....Guys dnt think just buy the N8....and yes all the usb on the go,fm transmitter,hdmi out put r just icing on the cake....

If n8 would had 1ghz processor and 512 ram, it would had never hang or freeze and would have been the best phone

I have not been able to upgrad... moreDial *#0000#, and select 'check for updates' from the options. if the message persists than connect ur phone via Nokia Ovi Suite and update it from there. These are the only two ways i know of for updating firmware so hope it helps mate!

I have not been able to upgrad... moreInstall Latest Ovi Suite to your PC(Computer) after Installation connect N8 to the PC wait till It connect after connected to PC go to Tool Click software update Symbian anna will show in update bar Click Both the Parts (Anna 1/2 And Anna 2/2) Click Next it takes saveral minutes to update.
