Nokia N8 - user opinions and reviews

I'm looking for a phone that's built to last, but on a budget, and I think N8 is the perfect choice. The aluminum body, camera and audio quality are all i need. But the problem is I'm a heavy texter, and the lack of qwerty and news of this phone's sucky text input are the only things keeping me from parting with my E72 (and pcketability). What do you guys think? Is it worth it?

Frnd if u r planing to buy a good smartphone(not cheap)just wait for nxt three months.coz nokia will introduce us with a smartphone with dual operating system(windows7mango+may be symbian belle(F.P1)/or nxt updated version.thats not all frnd. nokia include nokia's own 4ghz dual core proccesor with powerfull gpu,4gb ram,onboard memory 64gb expndble upto80gb. 5.6inch hd screen,qwerty keypad,10days btry bckup,HTML5.and it is true. but i don't know about the camera.and ya it will be the nokia's ultimate answer/challange for the iphone/ipad or android lovers...bye and don't forget to always keep smiling

brought N8, was perfectly fentastic phone, but when updated to ANNA i donn know whats wroung with the pnone started getting restar 2-3 time a day...........
any one whos faceing the same problem or any one who can help me in resolving this problem

There are two possibilities that spring to mind that might be the cause of your problems. The first is that you have anti-virus software installed and that is known to cause the problems you are describing. Uninstall anti-virus because you don't need it on a Symbian phone.
The second possibility is that the phone itself has a hardware fault, in which case you should have it checked at your local Nokia Care Point (NCP). If it is defective the NCP will repair/replace under warranty.
There may be a third cause for the freezing. You might have a beta app or two installed. If so, simply uninstall them.

I was a SonyEricsson fan and a do the mistake to buy a Nokia N8 phone. Symbian chrush down everi 10 minutes...loose his colours ( some times blue some times red or some times green colour ). I was updated the phone to OS ANNA. I lost the colour problem, now is just perfect...remaining freez in main menue everi 5 minutes, everithing is frozen only solution to reset the phone...every 5 minutes...unbelieveble. I hope the problem will disapared whit OS Belle, if not is too bad ...expensive phone useless.

That is absolutely fake phone i never had, one week screen touch and sensitivit gone and no spares compatible

You have a point that the N8's screen resolution is too low to fully appreciate a 12 Mega pixel photograph, but then again there isn't a phone on the planet that is capable of displaying 12 million pixels. My 1080p HDTV can only display 2,073,600 (1920*1080) pixels so even that doesn't come anywhere near to displaying the full resolution of a 12 Mp photo.
Also, the N8 has a capacitive touch screen which means it is designed to be used with the finger and only a special kind of stylus will work with it. Believe me, the stylus's that do work on capacitive screens are horrible to use and pointless for that matter.
Going back to the screen, the N8's screen is an AMOLED screen. The same one that is on my Samsung Galaxy S. Comparing the two side by side, the N8's appears to be brighter and more vibrant when displaying the same content, dispite the fact that the N8's has a lower resolution. This is because the N8's screen is half an inch smaller than the Galaxy S, so if anything the Samsung's resolution should be higher than what it actually is.

The bad, screen quality is poor, picture and videos look horrible both those transferred to the phone an taken with the device, low res. display only 210 ppi and a sucky ui which makes it worse it's so bad u might need a stylus in many apps and programs. 12 megapixel camera doesnt show as the low res. screen, low ppi and screen and image quality actually counteracts that. The good is the built quality and music player as well as the memory capacity. To be honestly th8e nokia n80 was a better phone to me r even the htc touch pro which both had higher ppi screens and image quality. Better buys would be th iPhone 4 or the samsung galaxy s the original.

People, don't do this, it is better to keep pr1.2 than void the warranty.
