gaks.., 05 Sep 2011does n8 upgradable to symbian belle os.
If so does it supports nfc when it get a belle update... more@ gaks
Yes, the N8 can upgraded to Symbian Belle. If you had read the many posts here and elsewhere you would know that already.
No, the N8 does not have a NFC chip, so it will never have near field capabilities.
UJJ, 04 Sep 2011The Anna update is OK, but I have found it a little buggy when I scroll on certain websites - ... morewe just have to be patient, I hear what you are saying and im not happy either about it as I would have liked it to come out ASAP too,
but it should be here november or december....

i do not know who you are but hear me out bruv...do not get intimidated by some silly... more @ Ronny.
Thanks for the appreciation and understanding. It's a rare combination these days. Also to Gitty, I appreciate your support.
I would doubt very much that Nokia will ever produce a Symbian phone with a 2 GHz dual core CPU and 1.5 GB of RAM. Where the hell did you get this idea from?
Your opinions are your own, and you're entitled to them.
I must though explain that I'm not miserable in the slightest. Far from it, but surely you can understand that after so many months of promises from Nokia and still the browser is sub-standard I'm going to post angry remarks.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that Borat is your true name and not make fun of the fact that here in England Borat is a byword for a backwards, ignorant and stupid person.
I always sign my name at the bottom of each post, not because of egotism but because it is grammatically correct.
Here is my review on my N8.
In the beginning with PR 1 boring and laaaaaaaaaa I dont know how to hack and tried to find for certificate on OPDA but could not found.
But when I tried flashing and used hacked belle
OMG its really awsome I can install any application of symbian and also big display gives me out of the world experience.
Though this phone hangs some times i tried to press for 3 sec switch off button thats it.
No matters about critics ............
I like the best things of nokia N8 is that it gives u a wide range of feaures and application.
I mean gaming is moderate whereas application usage is max.
I thanks alot for nicesoni for his nice CFW.
Really gr8, it has given a life to my phone.
Not all people can try for flashing, therefore I hope OPDA should start issuing certificate so that people should enjoy the actual essence of nokia N8.
To those people who are commenting for the bad quality of nokia n8, I think they are cheated by the cheap quality of mobile. Now a days i have seen duplicate quality of finland and china phones are made.
Even mine is china but working well and the battery for a moderate issue comes upto for a 2 days.
Pics are really gr8 when i have taken pics for running water i was just stunt, the pics still the bubbles and crystal molecules.Marvelous.
About the applicaiton working gr8.
Even call recording and Maps is perfect.
I Have medical and english dictionary working fine and useful.
The hold or grip is not that much perfect, i mean i dont like it. Thought it fall from my hands a couple of times but no marks or cracks as we can see in any phone.
In built features like fm transmitter, camera, memory, hdmi, usb, bluetooth, and metal casing is really superb.
Qt is doing good job.
Watching movies good experience.
photo editing good.
overall as if now this is the only phone which can fulfill the thirst.
Expecting comments on review.
Thats it for now if u need some other info please let me know, happy to give reply.

Everyone who want to buy this phone, first let me tell athing this phone is not that good. I am using this phone for last 6 month. I am just sad about this phone.
im just soooo happy w/ my n8. i dont need to bring my laptop and digicam when i travel. i have them all on my fone
Doesn't have come with a stopwatch!!!!!!! Unless I can't find it and there isn't a song search in the music player unless I just can't find that too.
I use the nokia n8 & I am very satisfied.
The one thing is I read that n8 has flash player 4.0. I also read that newer phones have a higher version of the flash player, 10.2, which is a great gap.
So.. Is it possible to update it to that version?

Ray Hipkiss, 04 Sep 2011I'm glad somebody understands. It really is a shame when a company loses it's way. Somebody h... moreBye bye RAY miss you already don"t be in a hurry back. Negativity is not good all the time.at times you where very helpful but lately it just got nasty all the best
samsung fans dont understand that samsung is purely a hardware manufacturer.cant even come up with their original design..;p so all they can do is keep packing their phones with more and more ghz processors. How else would they differentiate with htc and moto and huawei and zte and micromax and god knows who else.there is no end to this 1.2, 1.4 ghz madness. i agree that for watching a video sgs2 is miles ahead of anything out there. But what a consumer needs to look at is what are his particular needs and are they satisfied by the overall package at a reasonable price or by paying for specs like dual core which are just that- specs!! Plz tell me anythin that a 30000 Rs galaxy s 2 can do that my one year old n8 (Rs.21000) cant do. Plz dont tell me shoot and play 1080p vid bcoz frankly speaking i cant see the difference between 1080p and 720p vids. Also video recording at 720p in n8 is in my opinion no way less than vids shot on gs2. Plus i have bought so many premium games on n8 like asphalt 6 and hawx and what not and still the cost is much below the "greatest smartphone ever". And dont even get me started on the camera on my n8 because there is not a samsung digicam that comes close let alone cameraphone. So the whole point is dont run behind the hardware but look at the functionality and value for money. And the point about dead os. Remember symbian is getting support till 2016. Yeah tht is still 5 years down the line.now i dont know about others who think their phone is future proof but i cant see myself using one phone for 6 years.longeg i have used one is 2 and a half years and then sell it. And remember in resale value no one beats nokia. S ican safely buy two more symbian phones use them and sell them before the support stops.and i dont know what kind of support is really needed by symbian now. It can already do everything that i need from phone os. Yeah maybe it cant be used to heat up my palms on a chilly day like the galaxy s2 but really samsung deserves some credit afterall!!
Ray Hipkiss, 04 Sep 2011I'm glad somebody understands. It really is a shame when a company loses it's way. Somebody h... moreYou were not that helpful as you think. Your advices were shallow, lacking true experience, sometimes misleading and often not truly useful at all. I suppose you just needed something to feed your ego (why would you otherwise end each post with posting your name, when your name was already written in the title of the post?). So now that you have converted yourself into Nokia hater, I don't really see no reason for you to cry here over your misery, whatewer it could be. In the meantime I will gladly continue to use my N8, knowing there is no other phone that could fulfill my needs in such a delicate way.
