Hello.
There is absolutely no difference between N8's made in China and those made in Finland. All are built to the exact same standard using the same components and materials.
The battery life is dependent on a number of factors such as usage and what it is used for. It's also worth calibrating the battery every couple of months or so.
I typically get around two to three days battery life from a single charge, but I don't use the thing very often these days as I've grown bored with it since the Anna update and the announcement of Belle which looks hideous.

Symbian Anna update (1/2) or 1 of 2 is a must or required to install. The Symbian Anna (2/2) or 2 of 2 is also an important update. However, your phone will work if you had installed only Symbian Anna update (1/2). Frankly, I don't know the importance of Symbian Anna (2/2) but I did installed it on my N8.
After I installed the 2 updates, i noticed the increase in browser speed.

recently i upgraded my Nokia n8 to Anna and to today when i connected my phone to PC suit it tells me to update my software and the update is almost 280 mb. could this be Symbian belle already? please someone respond.........

I upgraded my Nokia N8 from Symbian^3 to Symbian Anna last Aug 29. The screen is simple but nice and there goes the saying "Simplicity is beauty".
However, I found out that the submenu icons under SETTINGS are NOT colored. And also the check marks when you select multiple items are just outline and no color so its a little bit hard to notice if item is selected or not. Is this normal when you upgrade your OS? If not, do the people at Nokia know that this kind of problem exists on their Symbian Anna upgrade? What must be done?
I am already beginning to regret why did I ever upgraded my N8-00 to Symbian Anna.

Okay.... This is it...!
I have been reading a lot of crap about the Symbian OS, it being dying and its obsolete and incompetent with the other OS's etc. I have been using symbian phone for over a decade (I am not saying that I have never used any other phone/OS but Symbian will always be my preference) and I have never found anything that was not possible with it. For N8, I have been using it since October '10 and have found no issues with it. No Purple tint, No hangups, Battery lasts more than what is expected out of a smart phone. The things that I felt was required has been addressed with the Anna update and if need be in the upcoming Belle update.
I hereby challege anyone who can point a flaw with the symbian OS.

nokia is cheating our hardend money.
no one can get get new certificate from now onwards.
its a poiicy to promote nokia windows phones.
