do not buy this phone if you intend to use it on o2 pay and go as it wont work because o2 and nokia have fallen out with each other over software release. somebody needs to pick there toys up and put them back in the pram ! ! !

There is no need for the brightness control app anymore, as people who have flashed their N8's with the leaked Anna firmware are reporting that the purple tint has now gone. I suggest you wait for the month or so it will take for the updated firmware to be released officially.

I’ve had my Nokia N8 for 2 months now and am absolutely loving it. Of course this is my first smart phone which means most of the features I am
enjoying are available on other smart phones as well. But then again, here is a list of features the N8 has that are not even available on the iPhone 4.
1. HDMI TV out cable. Very handy for showing video/photos of son at family houses or watching DivX movies in hotel room HD TV.
2. USB on-the-go which allows the following devices to be plugged into the phone:- external USB hard drive, flash drive, USB keyboard or mouse. I did a power point presentation on our boardroom dataprojector (using HDMI output and usb mouse).
3. SD card slot
4. 12Mpixel camera (excellent quality) 12M is good for digital zoom.
5. FM transmitter (I use this quite a lot as my car radio does not have a MP3 player)
6. DVB-H headset for Mobile TV (not TV screaming). Cable purchased separately. (DVB-H Mobile TV can be viewed on an iPhone but you need a second chargeable device with WiFi (Tivit/Drifter).
I have installed so many cool apps (ovi store works well). One App I would recommend is Nokia Sleeping Screen (from betalabs.nokia.com). This is a permanent, attractive and very useful screen saver that still maintains the battery operating time. It really makes the phone stand out from the crowd.
The MP3 sound quality is excellent. Used supplied earphones which have an inline skip/pause button and volume control.
I haven’t had any problems so far and speed is fine. It seems only the first shipment of phones had problems.

I have mine for 7months now. Two features that impressed that impressed me are the camera (12mp HD recording) & the new usb-on-the-go that Nokia embeds on most of their new models. N8 - go for it!

Took my N8 out of the silicone skin and realized the plastic bottom end was loose. Turns out one of the screw connections was broken, maybe when I dropped it a time or two. Solid construction overall but it's not indestructible. It has an Achilles heel. Be careful with your N8s people

symbian anna is not officially released. what someone referring here is the cooked firmware of some great people. so its up to you if you like anna now then flash it at your own risk or wait until august end

Guys cheers, this leaked version of Symbian Anna has completely removed the purple tint issue from my Nokia n8. I have not found any bugs till now. Will keep posted if any bug found
