I also have the same thought as yours... I love symbian although it's bit buggy and laggy... However I think Nokia should have focused on Symbian development rather than going for WP7 which seems to me as a most stupid decision made by any company in the world for the last 100 years...!
I've also played with SGS but not impressed at all.. Yeah... Live wall papers and Cool transition effects are great... Eye candy... But apart from that, I still love Symbian more than sophisticated android... Android makes me feel like a kid.. Yeah.. I-OS and Android is for kids I think.. For people like me (28 years old) I think Symbian is the way to go as it's more advanced... (at least I don't feel like a child..)
However as symbian is about to be dead.. I don't really know where to go.. Just as my friend Ray...
Dear ray, again... Did you see the official GSMarena review of pre released Nokia N9 with MeeGo OS...? That's absolutely great and making me to wait for more with my N8 without going to another alternative... Other than great hardware (Really cool display, 1 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM etc..) it's OS is a beauty... As we all know, SYmbian and MEego are the multitasking masters...!
I think you better have a look at that phone... Just in case...

Aston, 05 Jul 2011does the N8 have NFC chip?No nfc support for nokia n8.... Only c7 has nfc chipset....

hmm.,.frankly im usin n8 since last 1 month.,.,.,battry is k.,.,i. Have f secure running at d back.,..,i thot it myt blow my senses bt 1 hr f gamingcoupled vid 1.hr of. Internet.,1hr of songs n normal. Usage.,(mind it no talkin here).,..,makes d battery after 14 hrs to 50%.,., I have a china made.,one.,.as. m based in india.,.,dunno is it d reason.,.,m nt usin power saving mode.,.,as well .,.,one more thing smtyms d screen shines more den required as if I just opened n application n d brightness increass for few secnds.,.,.,nd faced d problem of rebooting itself afte it vas hanged.,.,.,it makes me regret my deci sion.,as its only 1 mnth old.,.
,phons nt bad bt china made .,.,made me sceptical.,i have e7 as well vich is vay mch betr in battery n

I've long been a nokia fan and owned devices like e72 and n8.. But now i wont buy a nokia phone... I am fed up with the slowness of nokia.. They just want to cash the cutomers hard earned money releasing different devices with same crappy softwares.. And the devices lack the hardware power.. They have now run out of ideas..

I will agree with a lot of what you say regarding Elops madness in killing off Symbian and therefore the lack of new applications being developed, but for me personally Android isn't a viable alternative. I do own a Samsung Galaxy S as well as an N8, and for me the SGS isn't anything special. Android feels very basic and has a Fisher Price feel about it. The actual SGS itself is also a cheap and plastic thing which doesn't feel any where near the £400 it cost when I got it back in February.
The N8 has been let down by buggy firmware, but is still more advanced and sophisticated than Android.
So, when it's time for me to replace my handsets there won't be anything for me to buy; Symbian will be dead, Android I don't like, Blackberry and iPhone? Forget it. WP7, no thanks.
So it looks like I will be going back to your bog standard no frills phone for texting and calling.

There is an official 32 GB version so it should be genuine.
When you say it is showing 0% free memory, do you mean the C drive when connected to your computer? If so, that is normal for the N8. Where did you buy your 32 GB N8 from?

n8 is not a bad phone,but the battery in the cell phone is very weak.its also a slow phone..when 2or 3 apps are on at d same time,the phone hangs...And sometimes it switches off without pressing any key........
