I have Nokia N8 and I want someone to help me with something...

Firstly, MKV is not a video file, it is a container for a video file plus other files for audio etc.
So, in order to play video in MKV format the video stream should be encoded as MP4, the Audio as AC3 file size no bigger than 4 GB or the N8 won't read it ( limitation of the FAT 32 file system ) and frame rate should be 30 or less frames per second. You can also throw in a subtitle file as .srt or .sub as the N8 will handle those as well.

First I should admit it is a great phone in terms of camera, music (multimedia) presently, however my experience with the phone was not good. Here it goes:
There was a strange problem, whenever I have a phone conversation there was a static noise (like electric buzz) loud, most of the time. It happened randomly and anywhere. Network signal was full most of the time. First I used on Dtac, complained to them they say no problem on their part, so changed to True Move (both 1800 mhz GSM), the problem was still there. Then I take it to Nokia Care and they change the handset for me, on the second handset it happened again. I was very disappointed as it is an expensive phone, I never have any problem like this before with any Nokia or other brand phone. I sold the handset at last. I really like Nokia and specially N8. Even the nokia care people do not have a proper answer to this problem.I would like to ask all of you n8 users if anyone faced something similar issue. After searching on the internet i could find two nokia thread were people complain of this issue, but no solution or reason for this. Reference:

I want to buy N8 again as I really love the device, but not until i am sure, that there will be no such issue again.

Hi Everyone!
I have Nokia N8 and I want someone to help me with something...
I have 720p HD movies on my computer and I want to play them on my N8. Therefore, the problem is that N8 can't play "mkv" video files.
So, can anyone tell me how can I convert these movies to play them on my N8?

Two days battery use for a smartphone is considered excellent by todays standards. Most HTC phones will last about a day on a full charge, maybe stretching to one and a half days.
It's just the nature of the beast I'm afraid.
If you want longer battery life then you will have to abandon the smartphone market and go for a basic handset with a small non-touch screen.

Does charging costs money?
What difference does it make to once in a day. If you wantip battery life than buy a cheap phone only to make and recieve calls.

I have this phone for about 6 months now. it's a great phone but only one drawback, the battery is SH*T. It's almost the same battery as my VERY OLD N73, i had a Samsung i8910 and it's battery was great, about 4-5 days until i had to fully recharge it, but on the N8... use it during the day TURN IT OFF at night, and than use it the second day, and at about 8-9 P.M I have to charge it.... i think i am going to go back on the i8910 or just wait until i can buy something better, i can't stand this battery any more.

AnonD-6110, 18 Jun 2011should i buy samsung I9000 galaxy S or nokia N8 ??? m so much confused between these two :/n8 best multimedia than sgs2, n8 it has complete package included hdmi cable,usbotg cable. sgs2 you need to purchased it separately hdmi cable and usb otg not included in package.

AnonD-6110, 18 Jun 2011should i buy samsung I9000 galaxy S or nokia N8 ??? m so much confused between these two :/i have both these phones, galaxyS has a prettier os that's about it. the n8 has a better camera and also the best gps you can get in a mobile (free for life with constant map updates). both phones are easy to use and have heaps of apps to download. all comes down to what you need in a phone and search youtube to see what the os is like.

Nokia E6 had good score but last night it got 700 votes and is now down at lower score,,we must get E6 back up again nokia haters are many but there are millions of nokia lovers.

REally its amazing technology. Its camera performance is superb and even watching movies in HD on my Nokia N8 gives a mindblowing experiance. And extremely streanless performance via HDMI to my Bravia. I love Nokia N8.
