I dont agree that its not a good phone.... its one of the good phones available in the market..... but check before you buy as there are lots which are assembled in China.... but only authenticated one like made by nokia or made in Finland... I have friends who took made in China & they are suffering now...

my n8 doesn't do video calling.
on top left it says 3.5G but it doesn't do video calling and in the log it says Type: GPRS
is it supposed to say GPRS or HSDPA ???

its funny how you guys blame units and think there all like that and say that it is the worst phone ever.
when other people say the phone is awsome, I love the phone and nothing is wrong with it!

A very cool and impressive gadget that has surely taken me by surprise the display and the other features on the device are pretty much nicely defined...
I'm loving to explore the device more and more everyday... the camera is pretty impressive and does give you very cool shots during the daytime... in the night the flash seems to be causing some problem but still you can easily get those brilliant shots by switching to the scene modes present in the settings...
The only two concerns are that, firstly, the lag between the homescreens and secondly, the problems in keeping disconnected from the previously registered WLAN services...
On the whole a pretty impressive phone by Nokia... surely can give Androids a run for their money..
And now with the new venture with Microsoft more is expected of the Mobile Giants...

check out this link guys...everything is free...
some games and apps are already signed....cool themes and so on....and if they are not signed...it explains you how to sign the apps by yourselves...no need to pass throug ovi and the paid stuffs :D i got assassins creed, asphalt 5, angry birds full version for free :)

I am considering getting the N8, but I am concerned that the battery is not user replacable. If the phone should freeze, how do you re-boot if you cannot take the battery out?

From the link I posted, just click on applications on the top of the page. Then log in with your Ovi account details. Now you should be able to navigate to the download for Sleeping screen.

well, i decided to keep my n8. took it to the carrier which sent it to an NCC and they flashed it with PR1.2.....and 1.1 is only avail OTA so im happy..the phone dont hang, it starts in 10 seconds. everything is faster im happy now! i wont put that many apps now only the necessary ones that i paid for and the best ones...then i will be looking around next january for a sucessor to this beast!

I'm afraid this is the worst phone nokia has come up with! I have already sent my phone back for repairs twice, 2 days after the 1st repair. The phone switches itself off and won't switch back on and when it eventually does it's on for about 20 minutes and then switches itself off again. Absolutely useless phone!!!!

[deleted post]Samsung is good in manufacturing raw hardware components. But they suck big time in conceptualizing, designing, assembling a phone into finished product. Look at the Galaxy S series. The design is only copied from Apple, interface again from Apple, and the OS is borrowed from Google. Samsung is not an innovator unlike Nokia and Apple. I said they are only good in raw hardware production. Everything else is copied from other companies.
