I buyed new nokia n8, and it is have purple tint issue. Now how can i solve the situvation?

Hi all,
I got my N8 almost 6 months back.I am fully satisfied with the phone.But I have a problem where call gets diconnected all of a sudden do any of you face this prob?and guys please let me when is the Anna update be available for the N8 and what does it have to offer feature wise?

No, guys...
Purple tint is not even that beig deal!
Just disable the stupid light sensor and it is mostly gone.
I've seen so many people do this and also suggest this all over the internet. :)

Dropping by again. Had my N8 since the first commercial day in the world and still totally loving it and wouldn't trade it for any other phone out there :)

Anonymous, 21 May 2011Please people I have nokia n8 but its not giving that stunning pictures somebody would expect ... moreu must remove the plastic from the top of the camera its just like the screen guard.....just remove it and u will get better results from the 12mp.....

Many Faults in this handset and you can't find any perfect one, I don't recommend buying it even though it IS the best mobile cam available.
Faults that My phone suffers (Google for more info):
-Purple Tint (that's a huge letdown).
-HDMI Cover Crack, yep it cracked itself never touched it.
other known faults:
-Proximity sensor issue.
-Motherboard overheating, restarting.

Just to clarify, the N8 can do GPS without connecting to a network and just rely on satellites. However, it does take a long time for the N8 to get a fix on the satellites so utilizing Assisted GPS ( connecting to network ) gives you a faster fix.
The other great thing about Ovi maps is the ability to download full maps to the phone to be used in Offline mode before you set off on your journey.

ROM stands for Read Only Memory, which stores the Symbian Operating System and other System files.
It can't be used by the user for storing any other data, unless of course you're into hacking and want to flash it with a custom firmware using Phoenix.

Two major Changes on symbian that are very bad.
1. You cant access some folders, no matter the file application u will use. With my late s60v2, i can access every folder using simple file app.
2. You have to sign apps before u install. You have to apply for your own certificate. Due to this whenever u format your phone, most apps on memory card cant be reinstalled. With my s60v2, i can install every app. U dont have to sign it.
You can by pass this changes if u hack your phone, but most nokia latest phones are not hackable.
Why did they make these changes? It is beneficial?

i bought mine N8 orange feb 2011its 3 mos nw, it works fine only purple tint on clock upper part during standby lock. I used SPB MOBILE SHELL, OPERA MOBILE VER 11 fast, zoom in & out, and I also downloaded pleNTY free apps Ovi store. I always read opinions here. Can u giv some oder apps and links, to make it more powerful & enjoyable to use. Tnx

I got N8 for about 6 months but it disappointed me very much. It disconnected automatically during the call. I have sent my N8 to Nokia service center to reload the software about 2 months ago, there is some improvement but the same old problem still exits. Apart from this problem, After photo shooting, I cannot exit the camera mode and I've no choice but just shut down the phone.
Is there any suggest to rectify these problems?
