When I don't use my N8 for longer period of time (lets say 8hrs or more) & go directly to contacts, all my numbers are missing, as in nothing left, I need to turn off the phone to restart & retrieve all the contact numbers. ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Why Nokia Why???

Its confirmed Pink N8 will be released with Anna.
and those 50+improvements from PR 2.0 or Anna OR Belle or whatever will all be present in the first Nokia windows phone

When i play mkv file....only audio is a... moreDid you even read the link that I gave you?! I guess not. Fully updated Symbian^3 phones can play MKV files, but not all of them. Don't comment when you don't know.
This is the reasons why some MKVs don't play:
"The problem you described is probably related to the fact that one of you movie is encoded with the CABAC algoritm where reference frames are set to 5 or higher. And another one which is working with CABAC off or ref. frames set to 4 or less. Install MediaInfo to check the files."

One other thing, in the web browser, you don't need to press "tick" mark and then press "go" after typing the web address. Instead, you can just press "enter" to directly go to the address you just typed. This way, you are skipping two steps while manually typing a web page address.

i love SE, 07 May 2011no dlna support,only 256mb ram,useless processor,outdated symbian os.I will call you a fool if you rent a truck to carry a packet of chocolate instead of carrying it inside your pocket. When Symbian OS doesn't need a heavy RAM, why putting it inside the phone just to reduce it's battery power? And just for your info, less powered CPU means less energy usage, less energy usage means saving earth - being green. Sony Erricsson says they are green but don't actually plays that ball. Please, give it a break. Be real. Look down to earth, you guys are killing it.

Hey N8 users, I've found something that MIGHT blow your mind. I bought my first N8 on November 11, 2010 which is used by my wife now. I bought my second N8 on February 2011. I updated both the sets to PR1.2 (version 014.002). After that, my second N8 (which I use) now have the OFFICE EDITOR but the first N8 DOES NOT have the office editor. Both of the N8s have "purple tint" in the lock screen (so I'm guessing that it is because of the update of software & might go away in the next SYMBIAN ANNA update). Now, if any of you have updated your N8, please confirm the things I said.

Check again online and make sure if it is out in Malaysia...
It no, that means you can't update to 1.2 yet... But if it is out, then you'll need to contact Nokia and tell them to help you...

If anyone's N8 has purple tint problem don't worry.
Go to Ovi store and download "brightness control by latern soft"
It clears out all the about 95% of the purple tint...
When you install it put the brightness at 90% or above..
Battery life is same.. It doesn't affect the battery at all...
p.s. the screen looks better because it lets you disable the built in light sensor... So, the screen is bright and almost no purple tint at all... Trust me, your phone will like like as if it never had any screen issue...
I've done that on 3 N8 and works perfect...

Anonymous, 06 May 2011have n8 3 weeks , just after giving up , cant charge cant turn off just stuck ! whats up with it ?hey dude,if u hav such type of prblm den just hold ur device's turn off key for upto 8secs then surely it responds.
