People like you & the Nokia itself are either narrow minded or simply evil. Who the hell will sell his phone if it is not defective, (unless you need an emergency money)
First of all did you ask y people are buying Nokia products? The answer is simple, we expect a quality phone!
Now the way you ask sounds that Nokia don't care what ever their customers have experienced. What is just important is to earn money even if the customers are unsatisfied. At the end who is the looser? The customers? No, customers can easily switch to other brands specially nowadays there are lots of better mobile computers compared to N8, but to build loyalty & trust is you have to start from square one.
It is simple if Nokia didn't intent to produce such defective units APOLOGIES, & truly repair it with care, but the more Nokia escapes & alibi the more Nokia is showing that they don't care for their customers.
I am working in a hospitality industry, & I know what CARE & hospitality means.
The highly protruding camera of nokia N8 is a real problem. Otherwise, this phone is too good...

They will replace it with another defective N8? It was replaced already before & the result became worst. Technicians here in Bahrain spoiled out my N8. A scratch on the sim card slot & screws (it seems that it is harder to open it on the next time around) existed after they opened it & the volume rocker was loosen. Nokia plays their customers like playing with the kids. It is so unprofessional! I'm not expecting it to Nokia. Nokia have no right to fight with their customers because they are the one who made the mistakes. Instead of public apologies, Nokia answers like they made no mistakes at all. :S

its not a real 12mp sensor its a 9mp sensor just interpolated to give the result of 12mp camera.google it and you can find it out.

we all know that the nokia n8 is an amazing phone. At the moment the only rivals at its price range are the xperia x10i and the samsung galaxy s. The n8 surpasses both these phones in terms o build quality and features. The n8 is completely worth it. No flash on the galaxy and no radio and 65 k colours on the x10. N8 has usb on the go, hdmi connectivity to my hd sony bravia so i can play gt racing academy on it, fm transmitter, 12 megapixel camera, carl zeiss infact. To me its practically untouchable. Dont android fans feel a tad of monotony. All android handsets nowadays come with the same specs and usability. Only htc phones should run android. They make the experience worth it. Anyway, nokia n8, best phone in its class and price range! B.t.w im hopping that there are no iphone trolls here. Why would anyone buy the most impractical phone out there. N8 be the GREATEST and we all know it! Cheers

Form me, I preordered it , now problem occurred till now.first batch, china made. For my gal, she bought dat blue n8 later, second batch, finnland made, no defects also.both areas bought in singapore.we've never heard of dat so-called screen defects.cheers....

hi guys i got my purple screen defect fixed at the nokia care just download the image from the link posted by one of our friend ..the image is screen test image .....thanks 4 the image and just show the image to the nokia care ....they replaced my screen and the problem was solved.....

I have this phone for around 2 months..and have never faced any problem whatsoever...be it regarding screen or software..No startup problems..everything's superb..great sound quality..camera.....tough n sturdy phone..!!!
I've booked my n8 today. I want to have it on monday. The retailer have gave me an advanced reciept on which they have printed nokia N8-00. What "00" stands for?
