AnonD-5010, 01 Apr 2011hi guyz, can anyone tell me how to open the big analog clock in n8, so i can notice if the fon... morego to settings>themes>screensaver choose big clock then go to time settings you can simple click the digital click to change it to the analog clock or go to options..you can change it there then slide the keylock slide at the side of your phone you'll see the analog clock then simply click the menu button and if the clock shows half purple..you also have the problem..goodluck..hope u don't have it..

AnonD-1082, 01 Apr 2011I'm not sure they will replace the entire unit but I'll do my best to get the whole thing repl... morei'm still hoping the the future software could fix our problem..and if it's a hardware i hope that good screen replacement would arrive sooner so can i bring my phone to ncc alabang..let's hope for the best c7 and n8 users..that's all we can do for now..let's help each other and exchange our knowledge regardnibg this issue..

why, 01 Apr 2011are you sure they're going to replace your unit...i only have 9 months left om my warranty...m... moreI'm not sure they will replace the entire unit but I'll do my best to get the whole thing replaced. Pr 2.0 is scheduled this summer so that's like at least 2-3 more months from now.

It would be more exciting if Nokia would make an anime movie (like toy story) with the Walt Disney staring all their classic mobile phones since most of them are popular &/or 3D anime games with all their classic models as the main characters. (i mean fighting with android gay logos! lol!!!)

why, 01 Apr 2011are you waiting for the third batch of n8 or third batch of the screen?..i'm afraid that event... more3rd batch of N8. When the reviews of the 3rd batch comes in and it's defect free then that's the time I'll hand in this thing. Until then, I'll just keep on waiting. If not then I'm selling it.

I once called the head of Nokia Care at Greenhills and the guy was so surprised ho... moreare you waiting for the third batch of n8 or third batch of the screen?..i'm afraid that eventhough we have screen problem they will replace the screen but not the phone itself..
and also my c7's sim compartment is defective..it doesn't pop out the sim when i push it..and my menu key doesnn't work after the first boot..i have to reboot it again for it to work..

why, 01 Apr 2011are you from philippines and do you have the same issue..Oo kabayan! I once called the head of Nokia Care at Greenhills and the guy was so surprised how I got his number. I told him I was a consumer and he ignored my txts. I'm waiting for the 3rd batch. Hopefully, the issue will be solved and our screens fixed.

so in my case ever since i bought my c7..it's in default display b... moreI think it's an issue with the screen's driver but the only solution is to take the affected unit to Nokia Care and have the screen replaced. Nokia is telling people to take the defective units to Nokia Care and that indicates that the problem is a hardware issue that cannot be patched through a software update. Your case seems unique as you're the first one I know to get the defect from the recent upgrade. Try to take your unit to Nokia Care but don't get your hopes up as Nokia is replacing defective units with defective units due to the shortage of the perfect screens.

hi, to all mobile tech lovers all over the world. i m using NOKIA N8 and SAMSUNG GALAXY S FOR past few months. i would like to tell u some facts comparable between this two please take note of it as it may help you u purchase in mobile u want.
1. N8 has best camera in mobile industry, please don't even compare it with any mobile at present. all the comparisons are done in the day time only. any pic looks good on amolde screen but compare it on computer.
2. trust me guys, N8 has better sound output than I-touch.
3. ovi maps are outstanding way to navigate and reliably on N8.
4. EASE TO USE AND SCREEN QUALITY, BUILT MUCH BETTER THAN ANY OTHER DEVICE.
5. SAMSUNG SCREEN LOOKS GOOD.
6. BATTRY LIFE OF N8 HAS GOOD LIFE.
4. samsung has better screen and browser.

AnonD-1082, 31 Mar 2011Could it be that you are on maximum brightness the first time you took the purple screen test?... moreby the way i'm a c7 user..
so in my case ever since i bought my c7..it's in default display brightness which is 50%
and ever since then i have these black and white pics of celebrities..before when i'm viewing it it's normal..it's perfect i'd say cos the transition of black to gray to white in pics i good..i also checked the analog screen before and i'm pretty sure it was just normal.i updated my sw to pr 1.2 i guess last tuesday or monday i can't remember via software updater.but yesterday when i'm viewing grenade music vid by bruno mars i noticed brown patches in dark areas..in one scene i can't almost see his face because of the patches..so i downloaded the test images and it didn't show me purple tint but brown tint is visible..i was so scared and i have lots of photos so i revisited the black and white ones to shocked that it has now brownish red tint in it..i'm so sad..
now my question is does anybody know if this is software or hardware problem...?
