I have been using N8 for the 5 months and absolutely no problem/issue at all.
The fantastic battery life and the build quality.
Waiting for PR2.0 for the portrait QWERTY keyboard.

ok my question is when im viewing lighter colored pictures for example picture of the sky or picture of light yellow shirt..i notice some thin lines passing vertically across the screen...is that normal with amoled..?
please answer me guys..do you have that on your screen

My N8 has purple tint.......
Nokia care doesn't accept it as fault....
So using my old LG phone....N8 is still in its Box as I cannot use directive one....its very very annoying.
I collected my pocket money for 1 year to buy a high end smart phone to watch videos n play games :-(
I cant stop crying....Nokia isn't helping....visited all Nokia care centers in my city...but in vain.
Can anyone please help???

u shud take it in
n8 have a battery problem
if u use the internet alot the battery will last for one day only
its a very powerful phone

I bought this blue N8 (made in China) in last December and not surprisingly it's the best phone I've used so far.But for the last couple of days whenever I browse internet,download files or play games, my N8 heats up heavily.Sometimes it becomes so hot that I can hardly keep it in my hand.My N8 also has that purple tint problem, but I'm not bothered about it.I live in Bangladesh but my set was bought from a shop in Dubai airport..My question is, how many people have suffered from this overheating problem? And if I return it to that shop, will they replace it with a new one? Please help guys.

I would def check the phone before buying it. That's a very good idea you have mentioned. I initially thought that the purple/reddish screen effects comes after 2 or 3 days of use of the phone, but now that I have learnt that if the phone's screen is defective, it would show up that way immdtly, so I would take the reqd precaution and check the phone at the store before buying it.

I've been waiting so long for the updates to come, believing that it can fix the purple screen problem but when it arrives no changes at all. If you keep on telling that the purple screen defect is really not a defect then you are helping other customers to become another victim of the so popular headaches made by Nokia's negligence.

The purple defect affects everything you do with phone from pictures, games, VIDEOS (really really affected), messaging, anything as long as you're using the screen it shows an unpleasant resolution. The screen should be perfect because the screen serves like the living room of your house where you spent most of your time with your family & friends. Most of the operation you do with your phone needs to use the screen of your phone. I mean you can not use your phone without using the screen of your phone.
If you are not so sure with what you are posting here in gsmarena, do not convince others to neglect the defect in the n8's screen. Maybe your phone's defect is not as big damage as the others N8 like my N8 where I really can not enjoy watching movies & pictures

Also am not sure if they replace it with a new one ! What if they send me already used n8 ? I dont trust them !
