Software update apps is for application and not for firmware.

Dear all friends,
I was not really disturbed by this so called AMOLED defect because I really didn't experience such a huge difference in my cell... For an example I saw the Grey and black just like they are and not like purple... But in certain cases (such as movie trailer etc..) I saw this purple issue but very rarely and not noticeably... (I'm saying this very honestly not because I love the mobile...)
However I still understand there are some other users out there who're not really lucky as me and they've got defective screens which are ridiculously reddish and purple... I saw some videos and photos and yeah.. It's quite an issue...
I updated my firmware to PR 1.2 yesterday night and surprisingly noted that my very small purple problem, it also has disappeared completely...! I ran the movie trailer immediately and it has no purple issue any more.. not even as tiny dots which I saw before...! I'm very much pleased with this result and just wanted to share this experience with you guys..
Those who're experiencing the issue, please try the update and check for the issue using the standard purple issue checking procedures whether it's there anymore..
By the way, Nokia's official change log doesn't mention about such a bug fix in their PR 1.2 (they only tell about email synchronization problem has been fixed..) but I think after considering lots of user requests they've give the fix as an update but without letting us know that's a fix so that they can hide the mistake they've done... (I'm not happy that Nokia is trying to hide the mistake... But I'm totally happy that it's just a software mistake not a hardware problem...)
Please check guys and let us know whether i'm missing something here...

So will this thing will give any probl... moreThe purple defect is still new. No one knows if it will get worst in time but I don't think it will. It just won't display the colors right. Take it to Nokia Care and explain to them the problem and tell them to look for the bulletin about it on the database. Just insist on getting it fixed or replaced with a perfect unit and don't listen to them if they try to tell you that AMOLEDs are supposed to be that way.
Nokia admitted the defect but the people at Nokia Care still don't know what's going on.

guys do have the same problem when u view lighter colored pictures for example the sky there are some super thin lines passing like it's raining....is it normal with amoled because i don't notice that on phones with lcd screen...please answer my question guys.cos it's bothering me..

Do not buy this phone it' s a bundle of junk, i buy two from amazon.com and the phones would not turn on that' s sad.
i was hoping that nokia would have done a better job with this my last nokia device.

Borat, 22 Mar 2011Can anybody confirm that subtitles in videos doesn't work with this new firmware?Nevermind. Subtitles didn't show up at first, but everything is OK now.
