Guys plz dnt listen to these crap ppl who have never used a N8 and putting it down...the success of N8 speaks for its self...a close to perfect fone....i agree the UI is simple..but does everything it promises..we r going to get updates tat will make it better....i just love my N8...cant think abt a day without it....MY all in one device...i think its a must buy fone....i wld get one more in Orange color...but blue is best Color...i love the feel of it everytime i touch it....
If you don't have a cc-1005 nokia silicone cover for N8 yet, you should try one.
I purchased 2 of these and love them! I got the yellow(well green really) and blue.
No more will my n8 slide out of my hand!
I'm back to nokia, after a 2 month pause with htc touch HD. Before htc i had an N95 for almost 2 years and a half. I'm expecting the same with N8, after the first 3 days of use i'm not disappointed at all. I think it'll be a long partnership.

Engadget crashes internet explorer on my intel core i5 4gb ram high performance laptop. Google chrome loads it all but not without taking a few seconds to display the page. Firefox 3.6 does fine when on my windows 7 partition but lags when scrolling on windows vista. All these on the same hardware. the symbian browser has never been known for speed or gluidity. engadget or no engadget.

Try loading Engadget with an N8 and a Snapdragon phone. The N8 won't be able to load it as quick as a snapdragon powered phone. Optimization does not translate to processor speeds and N8 fanboys denies this.

Thankfully, nokia doesn't give a damn about what you think. The ui lags apparent in symbian are not as result of it being underpowered but the ui design. The new ui would fix those. As said many times before, symbian as it its currently, with itsnhd resolution doesn't need dual core cpu s. It a stupid waste and no real selling point. Most symbian users are smart enough to know that faster processors don't translate to faster devices.
As far as I'm concerned, the n8 itsa good buy. Arguably the best multimedia mobile and definitely the most balanced smartphone in its price range.

i hate it as much as u do, but i used to loath it more when i didnt know how to avoid it, but now i forgot when was the last time i had it :)
Aaron, 24 Feb 2011And by the way, Symbian^3 is advanced not outdated. It is the UI which is outdated not the OS ... moreThat's great for business men, but I use my phone for recreational purposes... as does 80% of the world. It doesn't really do me much good if business men are getting a great user experience out of OVI. I've heard of this legendary UI overhaul that was promised to us in Feb by Nokia... Still waiting.
Also its a clear cut sign if your whole OS needs an overhaul just to please its current users... your doing something wrong.
It's true in some aspects Symbian is ahead of Android and iOS but in stuff that matters to the everyday user such as myself and the majority of the users around the world they are very far behind.
A great example of this is the sub par processor, you might say Symbain doesn't need the extra processing power but staying with technology is always a bonus, even if it wouldve been over kill to throw in a 1 GHz processor I say DO IT.
Anyways, you seem like you'll follow Nokia no matter would. Even though they constantly lie to you and always leave you stranded... Live and learn.

Do you understand the point I'm trying to get across?
[deleted post]Are you delusional? Of course people have to post the negative aspects of the device, how else can you give an honest review of something? Would you really want to be mislead into buying a phone for 500 dollars and find all the reviews to be lies? I have consulted Nokia on the matter on 2 separate occasions. I get the same "the problem is being looked into, and we apologize for the inconvenience". As far as the manual goes, I'll admit Ive browsed over it, but I haven't read it in detail. In today's competitive market if Nokia actually wants us to read a manual before using the device that's evidence enough how un user friendly it is, wouldn't you think?
Don't be a blind follower, take the honest criticism and learn from it.
I made the mistake of buying this phone cause I refused to believe anything could be better, now Im $500 down and miserable with the phone.
But hey, its your money do whatever you wish with it.
Oh and BTW I'll post my opinion in whatever fashion I desire, you don't control these threads. Deal with it.

That's why we can not judge WP7 for the next Nokia phones yet until a physical phone exists. Maybe they do a lot of improvements because they've known already that the previous WP7 didn't boom in the market, like the Android, there's no two different brands that are really the same to each other although they have Android OS in common but still they are different to each other. Maybe the next Nokia version of WP7 is more friendly to use, more functional, more flawless, more flexible, more pretty cool. But me personally I like Symbian, I like its functionality & simplicity, and I want Symbian to be improved more & more & more. Put a bit more wow amazing effect.
Aaron, 24 Feb 2011And by the way, Symbian^3 is advanced not outdated. It is the UI which is outdated not the OS ... moreLook, the CPU and ram on this thing is outdated and is using tech from 2008-2009. It's 2011 now. The UI sucks and what makes you think the updated UI won't suck? S^3 is optimized to run on these meager specs but try loading a website on this and you'll see that the CPU is lacking and under powered compared to Snapdragon. The N8 was supposed to get released last spring and the specs would have been more acceptable. It was launched around fall 2010 instead.
