I got N8 3 days back.....
I just check that it has reddish effect too....
Clock is reddish...even everything which should be black or gray is reddish....in videos i see all red instead of black or gray.
Plz let me know if its with all N8 or mine only??

jeffmc07, 28 Feb 20114GB... 8GB doesnt work for me....N8 can read HDDs of any memory capacities but they should be formatted with FAT or FAT 32 systems and if they're not externally powered, your phone should be hooked to the charger while they're connected

My n8 is almost a month @Nokia Care they changed whole hardware but cannot fix it, still waiting for next batch of hardware to fix this problem... Demo unit Of Nokia Store No defect reddish compared mine its also affected in other color not only in black, also in green,white,blue color its look reddish purple.. i mean if your themes is green instead of green the color will became reddish,

Anonymous, 28 Feb 2011E71 Does have mini SD card slot. im using E71. it's on the top left side.I think E71 is totally different from E7 right? Please check specifications for both models.

With regards to amoled problem, i think its a hardware issue, mine have no problem, but my friend's unit have those....

dear Srin8,
great but I have a problem with my N8
1- battery life is short.
2- sometimes it stuck, when i wana to zoom in a photo, the screen becomes black untill i zoom out again, the problem will stay still untill i reboot the phone.
could be a virus,
what do you think?

i given up my nokia n8.. i tried to find a no defect n8.. because im experiencing the purple reddish color problem.. i almost search the whole store i can find even in nokia store they have defect once.. i opened almost 200 nokia n8 units all of those units has purple reddish color.. im very sad because my friend has no defect phone the clocks color is color pure black but my former n8 is half purple half ligtblack.. i given up this piece of beautiful creation of nokia.. well i switch to htc desire hd for a moment.. ill return to n8 again after 1 year.. haha when all problems defects are gone.. just like what happen to nokia 5800.. first year of the phone has a lot of problem,., but now its one of the best phone out there in the market.. :)

are you sure? why demo unit at nokia store is no reddish purple? and mine have it, nokia care they dont how to fix this... its a hardware problem?Amoled problem? Or it has 2 screen used in n8? One is a original amoled and the other one is cheap amoled...
Explain me and prove it, that reddish purple is not defective in N8... Wait for your feedback.... Thanks

hey guys, if u r plannin to buy a smartphone...please go for nokia n8...coz a day will come when u will be able to switch operating systems like u do with ur PCs...then u can have ultimate software 4 ur phone...n8 has the best hardware for the time being...so get an n8...if u have very less hardware capabilities what can u do with the ultimate software???its like nokia 1100 having iOS X..if u still do not realise this hard fact..do what pleases u..

ric, 27 Feb 2011plz tell me about the purple red amoled defect, i'll b buyin dis beast very soon and wana make... moretheres really no purple amoled defect. you know some trolls here on these forum that havent really try an n8. they're pretending. i have 2 n8s a black and silver one. neither one dint show any defect on amoled screen. belive me, even gsmarena and some other reviews dint complain about that purple red amoeld defect issue,
