[deleted post]Are you delusional? Of course people have to post the negative aspects of the device, how else can you give an honest review of something? Would you really want to be mislead into buying a phone for 500 dollars and find all the reviews to be lies? I have consulted Nokia on the matter on 2 separate occasions. I get the same "the problem is being looked into, and we apologize for the inconvenience". As far as the manual goes, I'll admit Ive browsed over it, but I haven't read it in detail. In today's competitive market if Nokia actually wants us to read a manual before using the device that's evidence enough how un user friendly it is, wouldn't you think?
Don't be a blind follower, take the honest criticism and learn from it.
I made the mistake of buying this phone cause I refused to believe anything could be better, now Im $500 down and miserable with the phone.
But hey, its your money do whatever you wish with it.
Oh and BTW I'll post my opinion in whatever fashion I desire, you don't control these threads. Deal with it.

That's why we can not judge WP7 for the next Nokia phones yet until a physical phone exists. Maybe they do a lot of improvements because they've known already that the previous WP7 didn't boom in the market, like the Android, there's no two different brands that are really the same to each other although they have Android OS in common but still they are different to each other. Maybe the next Nokia version of WP7 is more friendly to use, more functional, more flawless, more flexible, more pretty cool. But me personally I like Symbian, I like its functionality & simplicity, and I want Symbian to be improved more & more & more. Put a bit more wow amazing effect.

It is the UI which is outdated not the OS ... moreLook, the CPU and ram on this thing is outdated and is using tech from 2008-2009. It's 2011 now. The UI sucks and what makes you think the updated UI won't suck? S^3 is optimized to run on these meager specs but try loading a website on this and you'll see that the CPU is lacking and under powered compared to Snapdragon. The N8 was supposed to get released last spring and the specs would have been more acceptable. It was launched around fall 2010 instead.

Hey guys i got quick search update, Wat is the benefit and for Wat was the update. Dear friends am seriously new to Nokia i don't no the special things in n8. For past 5 years only Sony Eric. Dear all Pls give some tips to use n8, Wats awesome in this apart cam. Guide me to use this device completely. Sorry for this hope u ill all help me.

It is the UI which is outdated not the OS itself. Well, the Symbian UI will anyway get major overhaul in the coming months so it's no big of a problem anymore. And lastly, Ovi Store has more quality apps and is a better performing apps store than Android Market according to business expert, Tomi Ahonen. So Symbian isn't actually bad at all as some people think.

N8 is better off with Symbian. It'd lose a lot of its functions if it runs the current Android OS version. And WP7 is actually the worst mobile OS as of now. It will take a couple of years to get to Symbian-level of functionality. And btw, WP7 is a closed system OS. It is fully dependent on Microsoft-made softwares and services, more like a cheap copy of Apple iOS.

It's good to read an honest to goodness opinion on the short comings of this phone. No phone is perfect but it's clear that S^3 is outdated. The hardware is good but the OS is undesirable. No wonder it's getting phased out in favor of WP7.
Shame on the blind fanboys who slams honest opinions on this phone. You guys can't take criticisms about this phone and won't admit to its short comings.

lets not judge the egg if it will hatch or die inside, we can not judge wp7 is not a good choice by Nokia, maybe it looks like exactly what you see in your laptop but in a small & portable gadget, where you can install almost all software & applications, & you can even use the usb on the go same as the standard built in usb in your computer, like you can insert printer, broadband, modem, etc... what ever & how ever you use your usb & computer, & we can not predict also that symbian will die, maybe there is symbian inside the wp7 or a combination, or wp7 can operate almost all compatible software & applications to symbian, Nokia this time will do their best to be the #1 again in the market, & microsoft will not let other Os/Ui to rule the world.
best hardware(NOKIA) + best software(MICROSOFT/WINDOWS)= BEST MOBILE COMPUTER

I own a silver N8 and i have to say it was one of the Best . I own a Nokia X6 16GB , Nokia N8 and a Samsung Wave S8500 GT .Nokia N8 is really amazing cause I can record my moments with my friends and families using the HD recording and playing it back into our 42 inch Sony Bravia . The internet is excellent but a bit laggy especially on heavy websites like Engadget,Nokia Discussions . The N8 is a Big LEAP for nokia , Too bad they Lie a bit about the N8 being scratchless . I scratched my N8 [5 visible scratches and 7 hairline scrathces ] Now Im waiting for Nokia Care Center to have a Casing Replacement . But overall the N8 is a phone focused on multimedia :]
