I've updated the software on my N8 to PR1.1 but I still can't get push email using Nokia Messaging, I can set up my Gmail account but it will only pull emails.
I Still think there is a problem with Nokia Messaging.

I agree, Elop has potentially ruined Nokia.
However, updates will still be provided for the N8 for at least 12 to 18 months. But thats all. Sadly, new applications and games will be few and far between.
For me though, I'm still happy with my N8 for it's camera, free Sat Nav, excellent video playback capabilities and Nokias internet radio app.
All the best.
Dks, 14 Feb 2011Nokia launch new device in mwc 2011. Nokia n9-00. Nokia e6-00. Nokia x7-00. Nokia x1-00. ... moreAre you sure about this? Nokia didn't announce any phone yet at mwc. And beside n9 is scrapped. N9-01 is new design without keyboard.

However, it may be possible for developers to port applications and games over to WP7 when the new handsets arrive in 2012.
But for the N8, it's not looking good unless Symbian is given to the open source community to develop and work on. Then the N8 might have a bit more life left in it.
Mauritango, 14 Feb 2011Thanks a lot Ray!
How do I find out my phone's product code?
Best Press call on your homescreen. Then Type *#0000#. Your product code will be the 7th item down on the list.

Elop is a major shareholder at Microsoft,& has pla... moreNokia Ceo Elop to buy Nokia shares ASAP, to divest Microsoft shares soon
Quite a few of you have tipped us the link (directly or indirectly through post comments) about Stephen Elop being the 7th biggest share holder at Microsoft, whilst holding NO/ZERO/0 stocks at Nokia. This fired up a lot of suspicions that Elop had masterminded some kind of take-over of Nokia by MS, with Nokia effectively being under MS’ thumb as he seemed to stand to gain a lot from it from his previous employer.
Finnish site, YLE (TOP 10 Site in Finland, not just some random site) claims however that the reason Elop has no shares in Nokia is because of the “terms of security trading regulations” that had prevented him from acquiring Nokia shares due to “insider trading”. Further more, whilst Elop did have significant shares at Microsoft, he began divesting this when he had left the company and sold as much as 60% of it before moving to Nokia.
Elop will apparently divest ALL of his Microsoft shares as soon as restrictions/rules allow, and likewise, purchase Nokia stock when legally able to.
anonymous phils, 14 Feb 2011hello, im planning to buy a mobile this week... and i dont know if Im going to buy N8 or anoth... more The N8 is a great phone but Nokia are going down the plug hole, so I wouldn't advise you to get the N8 because Symbian is being killed off. The effect of that is, there will not be many new apps written for the N8 because software developers won;t see the point in writing apps for a soon to be dead OS.
Mauritango, 14 Feb 2011Guys, going back to the N8, just one question, I'm living in Switzerland and still no firmware... more@Mauritango.
Unfortunately, not all product codes have made it onto the servers yet. But Nokia have promised to get all the updates available for everyone this week, beginning today.
If you post your product code here, I will check to see if it is on the servers yet.
It's also a good idea to use Nokia Software updater on the pc to check for updates.
All the best.

Yaeh it's all politics at Nokia now.
Elop is a major shareholder at Microsoft,& has planned very well all these dramatic moves. Many now see him as a Lunatic heading Nokia.'Well if the rooms too hot u beta move out'-Mr Elop addressing Employees. All this B$ was well planned.
His decisions at Nokia are not within the company's best interest
-Nokia shareholders are loosing lot of money as shares continue on declining
-thousands lots their jobs at the company and more will be loosing them
-never mind Nokia customers ,Elop knows what u want & whats good 4 u & that's WP7.
-those waiting 4 updates don't worry you'll be getting WP7 as the major update 2 yo Symbian phones-be ready 4 that coz engineers are almost done with the new WP7 update 4 S^3,but u'll have 2 pay 4 the update.
-Microsoft will in near future buy Majority of Nokia shares so as to have full control of their new division-Nokia
As 4 me,it's time 4 Intel now,it's all intel+MeeGo,never thought i would say this but feels great saying it-'RIP Nokia & Microsoft'
There's only 1 solution left,Nokia shareholders should vote Mr Elop out, vote him and his associates out of the board otherwise we are yet 2 see the worst.
