Nokia N8 - user opinions and reviews

After thinking a lot, i decided not to buy N8 and got me a Dell inspiron 15R laptop. Awesom gaming and videos are above the world. Battery is nice and better than n8. If N8 had 10" screen, it would have done gaming only 1 hour max.
And for dedicated gaming, i will get Next Generation Playstation portable when it comes. For phone, feature phones are best. Hope you understand.

The metal adopts the new color in the anodization process. No physical reaction can cause discoloration on an anodized metal like the anodized aluminium of N8. Well, I bought mine for about a month now. I usually prefer black phones but when I saw N8 in 3 unusual phone colors, blue, green and orange, I was dazzled. They're all so beautiful in those colors.. But I had to choose one so I chose green. It actually doesn't look green. More like yellow green that gives a golden hue. It's cool in the eyes.

Ttpod beta for S^3 is released,but still in Chinese. Very good alternative Music player for N8. :-)

Its screen aspect ratio is nearly imperfect for watching movies. Its video player doesn't support "play for last stopped point" feature which is very disappointing. This phone is a good camera phone, but i don't understand why it can't be a good phone for movies? Why build a phone that supports Avi-divx-xvid popular movie format when it doesn't even give you the most fundamental features for comfort while watching. Though it has AMOLED, which is not bad. But one of the boring thing i have come across with this phone is the funny Alpha/numeric keyboard.....I thought this was suppose to be Symbian^3, not the old fashioned Symbian s60v5 phones....i thought N97 was the last of those funny S60v5 phone. At least N97 with its old symbian it can still be considered a great phone because it has its QWERTY keyboard.

Anonymous, 29 Jan 2011Nokia will not come out with PR1.1 until next month end. They plan to release the new firmware... moredarn, another month to wait. Well, I hope they'll incorporate portrait qwerty, enhance wifi experience, and revamp its browser. Still N8 is a keeper but if the firmware fails to meet up with its expectation, i'll be dumping it

None of the specs that you've mentioned are found on N8. You might be right, but android entry level phones have lesser specs compared to the premium ones. That what they call entry-level phones, that's how you penetrate a market, that's how you make a bug profit and make money, and that's how we end up spending and upgrading cuz we want more!

Nokia will not come out with PR1.1 until next month end. They plan to release the new firmware only by feb end.... Too sad. Nokia does not keep its promises...

after waiting almost 2months for the rumored firmware update, it's a shame that nokia didn't live up with it's promise of a new interface and portrait qwerty. I saw a nokia n8 @ youtube with the latest PR 1.1 and it's the same banana. Well, 4 months to go and I'll be dumping this N8 for my new phone upgrade. I hope e7 would be available by then...
