the reason why all of those issues happens in not because of processor but the symbian^3 hasnt fully utilized the gpu to the max just yet(considering it is still new). QT (which uses the gpu) written apps such as the music player and the photo gallery run pretty smooth however the AVKON-based UI and the WRT written apps (which uses little or zero of the gpu power at all)....well....sucks (kinda like s60v5 performance). Symbian is pretty efficient, even endgadget admits that. in terms of functionality and usability, symbian still leads ahead. android are now only getting those features but then again u might now be able to use it in your current android phone due to the unreliable software updates. BTW, nokia is really concentrating on symbian now. Proof? P.R 1.1 and 2.0. 1.1 will feature a new qt browser and other improvements while 2.0 will feature a new UI which is QT coded fully.

U might not want symbian os but most of us do. see dude symbian is good but the technology which is building up these days will not work with symbian.the only way to improve symbian is that nokia should put lot of heavy things on symbian which can compete with all other .giving 12 mp camera and hdmi and usb on go these all r hardware they should more concentrate in software bcoz in hardware nokia is best.in n8 they should made this with 1ghz processor whether its symbian though they should give 1ghz to compete with others and i think so all users are having wlan problem in this phone and laggy,freezing,hanging is now very common problem this of bcoz of slower processor whether everyone agrees or not but thats the fact..

that sxxt out! i just cant stand nokia !!! there so behind! and so selfish and unthoughtful to the very people that got them to the top in the first place.

it is a shame buying a phone that u like and then it goes dead people please make sure u get a warranty but all is not lost if u get a new good mother board u should be good but thats people work hard for there money and then to buy a phone they like then barly using it only for a day then it goes of and never comes back on nokia what r u doing

Nokia is very very suck & poor(shut off by itself & cant switch On back)...just buy in one month...cannot use already....sent back to zitron...also same...who gonna responsible for this?

You know me I am(was?) a nokia fan. But what are you supporting? here in my country there is a lot of n8 users who their devices has been defected and dead. Why must such a well known company sell damaged and fully defected devices to the customers? It's completely unfair. I know someone who paid about 800$ for n8 and his n8 was dead after a week. it was not a guaranty supported device so he never could enjoy his n8 and his money is lost either.
You say you have not faced any problem yet and no Finnish people have had a problem. Do you think only Finnish people must have flawless devices for the money they pay? or you mean only made in Finland n8s are flawless and Chinese n8s have problems? if you mean so, why nokia makes it's products in china where it produces defective devices? if nokia Chinese production line is faulty, it's a nokia fault too.
I never never never expected nokia to make such a terrible mistake. i want name it a disaster.
I am planning to buy this phone since first day but I don't know what to do yet. because I know more that 5 people in my neighborhood who have lost their mony for buying n8.
I repeat, I never expected nokia to make such a terrible mistake of giving fully defective phones to customer and not be responsible for them.
The only thing nokia should do about defective dead or restarting devises is to replace them without any doubt. but we see nokia care refuse to replace them and only thing they do is useless effort to repair them or delaying in services. and not responsible for that huge money poor customer paid.
I think its totally unreasonable.
I am really disappointed of nokia. Wheez if you have any connection with nokia please pass this opinions to them. maybe make a better decision to regain their credit and image again.

I bought two N-8,s recently about a month ago but its not only me is unlucky anyone who bought this shit got tears in his or her eyes... haha! Becoz it has problems which we got.. like No bluetooth connection.. no msg forwarding.. no email.. and some one has hardware problem too. Its my Brotherly Advise to All of You that don't buy this ph. till you see urself to someone using it.
