Has anyone noticed that when a video is played in the full screen mode, it really isn't full screen. Why is this so and is there any way to get around this?
The N80 Camera is one of the best mobile phone cameras on the market..let us not compare to standalones. I used it, I am pretty much satisfied with iT!
hi im just curious about the camera performance of this phone. Does it take good pictures and video? better than n70? cause im planning to change my phone with this one.. my phone is n70..
the screen should not go blank as soon as you slide it close. you should have your unit checked to avoid further issues as the flex cable for the screen might be loose or malfunctioning.
I had the phone for 4 weeks now. At first
I used to get a lot of application error, however after upgrading the firmware to latest version, I must say it is a damn good phone with a lot of features. The WiFi been the reason I bougth the phone, the only issue I have is the Battary Life. You can check which firmware your N80 is running by typing
*#0000# on the phone keyboard.
What is the update with the model N80 internet edition? how does it differ from original N80 introduced in Q4 2005 according to this page? When was N80 i.e. introduced?
Has anyone had a problem with the screen of the N80 going blank when you slide the phone to the closed position? Also having a blank screen when moving throught the menu but only for a few seconds. When closed, the screen is permanently blank? Any thoughts? thanks in advance.
can you set a custom screensaver on this phone?
And which one should i buy: n80 or n90?
Yes the n80 has a plastic lens. The most important feature on a camera is the lens NOT mega pixel.
i have a question about the lens of the camera of this phone. is it true that it's made up of plastic. someone please help me because im planning to change my n70 with this phine.
Queston for updating the firmware:
You are updating the phone operation software (also known as firmware), that is embedded in the read-only memory of the device, including native applications such as the calendar and phonebook. This is similar to the operating system software on your PC. The update consists of improvements to this software. User data such as contacts, photos, messages, and add-on applications such as Java games or Symbian applications are not part of the phone operation software.
The benefits of updating the software (firmware) include additional functionality and improved performance.
imean why can't i redownload the old themes from my computer to the formatted memory card,it couldn't be reinstalled!!!!
I've got the n80 and it's caused me nothing but hassle.Memory low,no signal, freezing up etc etc, even the camera isn't very good(it has a plastic lens)
TO YOUR QUESTION: ""after formatting my memorycard i couldn't install my old themes again on my n80 nor does new themes appear on application manager.can anyone help?""
HERES THE SOLOTION: ""Themes saved on the memory card can never be installed if you re-format your memory card. The one that appears on your phone are all the original themes that were saved on the phone memory.
If anyone has problem with N80 or other model "6600 and above" you can RE-FORMAT the phone by turning off the unit. Then press and hold the green key, * (asterisk), 3 at same time while turning on the unit and release the keys once the nokia logo appears or once it lits the screen.""
This is the Best mobile phone by far. It has the most functions a phone can have. Any other phone that lives upto this ones standards (eg. LG with its 5Megapixel camera) looks awefully UGLY ! This is the most advanced all in one handset with a host of features. Not even the N73 is as good as this mate, cause only thing good about the N73 is the autofocus - furthermore it has lower quality screen, NO WI-FI / UPNP, aweful joystick and its rather big and bulky when carrying in your pocket, whereas the N80 is a little thicker but feels 10 times smaller. N80 is the King of all Mobiles !
was gonna go for the n73 but went for the n80 cuz of to many probs..
and heaps more..
Here are some explanation for updating the N80:
1.) You are updating only the PHONE OPERATION SOFTWARE (also known as FIRMWARE), that is embedded in the read-only memory of the device, including NATIVE APPLICATIONS such as the CALENDAR and PHONEBOOK. This is similar to the operating system software on your PC. The update consists of improvements to this software. User data such as contacts, photos, messages, and add-on applications such as Java games or Symbian applications are NOT PART of the phone operation software.
2.) The benefits of updating the software (firmware) include additional functionality and improved performance.
Mine is also V3.0617.06,03-05-2006,Rm-92, Nokia N80(12) but Iam satisfied with its current performance. I have bought add-on software from symbian9.com (Internet software, Office Software, System Software, Multimedia Software, Personal Software and Productivity Software.) These were great and you will experience the full extent performance of N80.
