Hi there !
I just wonder why the battery life is so short ????
hi guys , i was going to get this one this week but i'm really worried about the slider and the battery , does the slider really opened in the pocket , and will it be spoiled in ( let's say ) a year ? and about a battery i will be using the MP3 player alot but the camera and bluetooth not more than 5 to 10 times every week and i will never use the wifi . so will the battery be satisfactory to me ? and will it help to use my nokia 6100 battery as it works perfectly fine with me . thanks alot

hmm...if you bought the phone in nokia shop does it have the phone operator GPRS user and password in it?
The n80 is the fastest phone,it's totally amazing. This mobile is miles ahead of anything else on the market. The quality of the camera means you don't need a standalone, the audio output means you don't need a mp3 player, browse the internet so who needs a laptop! The slide is perfect, good battery life.It also has a lot of internal memory and can even take memory cards.I can't believe so many features could be put inside such a phone.First phone to have wi-fi.NOKIA RULE
Jeff where did you get Yahoo Go for N80?
Yahoo Go is only available for Series 60 version 8.1 on N-Series...
...and N80 has version 9.1
Well, I bought this baby in a Nokia store at Chicago past september. I can tell you.. this phone rocks. I'm writing this review from my very phone, connected through my Wireless LAN (using WPA2 Personal security). I got Messenger Live and Yahoo Go! for this phone and they work superb. If I can get a suitable VoIP client for this baby and I'll be all set. No problems at all, some isolated "freezes" but nothing to worry about. This is the best phone I have ever had.
The cpu is 220mhz,program memory 18mb.
GREAT NEWS!!
N80 is only problematic with those who dont deserve such advanced technology and who cant handle it properly!!!..sure it is the best phone..maybe until n95 is released.
SCOTT
what's the firmware version of your N80?
Is there any way you cam make the text larger on the screen? It's very small to read! Thanks.
you're welcome MONA =)
To Owen, thanx for answering back&I took my N80 to service center, will keep u posted
This the BEST PHONE IN THE WORLD. It is better than: the n73 (which has a sh#tty joystick, and lower screen quality) and the big bulky n93. The N80 has every single function u can think of, wi-fi included, superb 3.2MP camera thats amazing even without autofocus, its a classy slider, all the connectivity options u can think of, very fine high resolution quality display, not as big as u thought it would be, excellent web browser like the real internet with a cursor and mini-map, a integrated fm radio, best sound quality Nokia has ever had for mp3's etc. This is truly an amazing mobile and does not lack anything. Its very classy and professional. I wud recommend this to people that knows about professionalism. Its the best all-rounded phone Nokia has had. I trust this will continue the KING OF ALL MOBILES.
Hi LYNN
hopefully that unit will not be faulty because N80 is a really good unit.
sometimes its really a bad luck for us to conincidentally get a unit that is always faulty.
i have a friend who used to have Sony Ericsson k750i and it was replaced 3 times in less than a couple of months and it has spent more time in the repair shop than with him. But our other friend also owns K750i and she's had it for a year until now and never had problems...
so i guess everybody gets to have a bad unit on every brand and model.
even the most stable and efficient brand and model will always have a faulty unit being distributed, and awaiting an unlucky owner to buy it.
Hi it's on o2 UK and is unbranded. This n80 seems to be preforming better and the build does appear to be of a higher quality, fingers crossed that this one will last longer than 2weeks.I don't see why I should have to go to a nokia service centre t get them checked out, isn't that meant to be done before they pass them on to the network?Should this one develope the same faults i'm demanding compensation and a different mobile(probably not a s60 os 9).
MONA
i suggest you bring it to a Nokia Care center to have it checked
N80 users with problem
i dont know if your units are refurbished or outdated or something. because me and 3 of my friends bought N80 and we've been using it since June and we never had any problem and unit was never replaced or something.
we got our unit unbranded or open-line.
im not sure if cellphones from service providers are crappy because they install firmware of they're own to brand it with their service. that's one reason sometimes why phones with good functions get crappy.
another thig is sometimes, phones are made in batch and if one batch has a lot of disfunctions, all the units will have the same behavior.
they might be giving you replacement unit that came from the same batch when it was manufactured thats why it always fail.
thats why i always get phones that are unbranded or unlocked and from trusted shops.
I've also had problems with the n80.I took out an expensive contact to get this mobile and its one problem after another.I'm so dissapointed and angry that nokia could put a phone on the market that cleary wasn't ready to be released.Hopefully this one(my 4th)will preform better.Does anyone know how much Nokia have lost due to having to replace so many n80s?
i am usin dis cel n its gud
