hi i just got my N80 black series! At first i had problems lyk slow sms sending and the phone freezes for 30 seconds everytime i send sms. I decided to have my unit checked at a nokia care center and they installed a software patch called the "sms accelerator" and updated my firmware. So far they were able to fix the problems, the N80 WORKD GREAT!!!
hi! i just got my n80 today.... i just wonder how to set the n80 to use the wifi.... hope somebody could help me.... thanks!!!!
Does anyone know if the N80 comes with inbuilt screen savers/wallpapers? I thought this was standard on even the most basic of mobiles now but I have been unable to find anything except 3 boring blue themes.
Can anyone shed any light on this please.
Hi I forgot to say something i knw this is funny but i just wanna ask u if anyone had ever breaked the phones slider lol;)
does anyone knw how to format the phone's memory not the memory card the "PHONES MEMORY" Ty u guys
Does anyone know if a broken slider is covered within the manufacturer's warantee?
The N80 has been an exellent phone for me since the beginning of July. I live in Australia and do agree the battery life could be better. Also strange is the incar adapter ( which is a size converter from the standard nokia charger) does not charge my phone, but will both of my sones N70s. I assume it is a polarity thing. I bought a incar charger desighned for the N80 on a trip and find it works just fine although the smaller fitting in fragile. I have had no trouble with the slide "loosening" but did find it took a few weeks to get used to it. My one proble at the moment is memory capacity and have found that a cheaper mini SD card will not read. I am trying to find a solution to that now
To All N80 Users
Hi people. i just want to start a simple survey as i want to gather information about the slider mechanism because im starting to worry on the slider getting loose.
How long have you had your N80 and is the slider still in good condition?
if its already loose, how long have you used the phone before the slider got loose?
Hi Ned =)
its usually stated inside the battery bay on the sticker if its made in Finland or China or somewhere. It should be on the IMEI sticker on the box as well.
I got this phone for about one week now.i'm still confused about this phone.
1- easy to slide open
2- no Daily alarms!!
3- battery life is poor ( but they said it gets better after a few full charge and discharge)
4-signal reception is very poor. my old samsung A800 was much better.
1- WIFI is a great feature
2- looks nice compared to other phones(specially the black color)
3-It Can Say the name of the caller!!!(cooool)
4- sound is very nice
i'm still thinking should i change this phone or not..but this is my openion so far..
You don't have to open and close the slider to lock the phone, when it's closed press the power button and u'll get the option to lock the keypad.
Thanks Owen and lamar.. That keylock thing was really irritating.. You saved my life.. I hadn't noticed the lock keypad potion.. Only noticed the lock phone. I got the Black N80.. and it's made in Finland.. is there any chance that it could be assembled in China? (like some people say?) and how would I know?
Hy!N80 is great phone but the slayder is so bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if u look on page 25 u will see autolock link. download it from there
can anyone tell me if the Nokia BH-900 Bluetooth Headset is any good with their Nokia N80 ?
whats the Audio Quality like?
is it loud and clear?
Hi Ned =)
NO. you dont have to always slide in an out the number pad just to lock the keys...
press the power button once on top of the phone and choose "Lock keypad".
I am so excited & I can't hide it! I will be getting mine this Friday, a question for all US N80 users, how does the GPS Navigator works in the US, and a general question to all who belong to this forum.
Which are the top ten coolest apps to use on this phone?
This is probably the best phone (that remains a mobile phone), unlike the N95 that is maybe thinner than the N80, but much BIGGER in all the other dimensions. I can imagine how uncomfortable it would be carrying the calculator (N95) in your hand. I mean who needs 5 megapixels in a cellphone - can you picture how slow the phone would be, besides all the memory that a 5MP pic is going to take: 2 pics and your memory is full and best of all - you can't even see any difference in a 3.2 or a 5 MP photo. NO, i think they could have left it at the 3.2MP which is already high enough. OTHERWISE: do yourself a favour and purchase a Digital Camera. Oh, and BTW, the BLACK N80 is the sexy little number.
Ladies & Gents.Congrats 2 every1 who got or will get this Gem and make the best of it coz U may and can achieve EVERYTHING with.Best photos to be taken with its 3mp cam, best video calls, best and fastest internet surfing like a laptop, best audio calls, reasonable time on battery, very good mp3 sound, exceptional memory storage and 2gb extension, best user friendly menu and applications.Black or silver it is a Nokia & U WILL NEVER GO WRONG.
