Think twice about getting this phone. It takes for ever to switch on, the battery life is dreadful and the build quality is poor. Make sure you get insurance if you get the N80, you'll need it. Drop the phone and it's history.
I've had this phone for 2 months now. Apart from battery performance, software lag and "Gallery" issues, this is a fantastic phone. I would give it 80/100. I think everyone knows the battery problem with this phone, I dont know why Nokia still ignores it and waits for "official" feedback.
To Neil:There is a music transfer utility in nokia pc suite software, which is normally supplied in the box.
Well it works fine and looks pretty good quality (touch wood).
I have completely discharged it once, so I have to do that a few more times before the battery reaches it's optimal performance. It lasted for just over a day and half on the first charge, which was pretty standard. That was taking it straight out of the box and charging it til it was full.
I got the N80 as replacement for my SEP910i and I was really disappointed with N80..over the past 2 months my service provider replaced my unit 4 times already.. first SMS had become slower and slower (took it 30 secs to send "ok"); second.. the phone "hangs" and I had to open the back and remove the battery to get it going again..also the fonts for SMS too small..finally now the service provider will replace it with N93 after finally admiting that N80 problems are software-related..coming from SE phones twas really a bad decision to go Nokia
Sorry to say ppl - when i compared my nokia 6280 2mp cam to the n80 3mp, camera wise, it was way more superior, the n80 is 2 advanced for its own good, to many settings to go thru to take a good pic. my 6280 is simple - focus click and its done. sometimes less is more n simplicity outclasses sophistication.
i am about to get this fone and well i cant be anymore excited about this. WLAN built in, 3.15 mega pixel camera w/ flash, memory card, and above all its a nokia SLIDER!!!! cant wait...
does anyone knows. went your surfing the web on the mobile. do u go to a music website and lisen music. plz reply someone plz thank you
DONT GO NEAR THIS PHONE??????
I have had 2 handsets in a week, the first one was playing up and wouldnt let me into the gallary to view pics... And was very slow through main menu, but this happens with most smart phones...
The second I have had for 2 days and is already dropping signal and cutting out on calls...
Supposedly Vodafone have recalled the handsets for software issues and Nokia Might even be dicontinuing it THANK GOD...
I have always been a sony ericsson fan and I know why now Nokia is unreliable why are they the market leader I would rather have a sendo at least it will work
This phone is terrible. The battery is really bad... I had it for 2 week and now I want to get another phone to use cause this battery is so bad....It not even last a day....So dissappoint on nokia product...
guyz I just got my nokia n80 the pictures are great on it perfect as but when i tried the vidoe it was really at a poor qaulity even my three phone is better what should I do?I know its got something to do with the settings but considering that the phone is a 3m camera i expect it to do bettere any one help?
A week with this phone and I am returning it. I'm going back to my K750i. The user interface is pathetically slow - it annoys the crap out of me. The slider without locking is also annoying. I simply cannot get over the fact that there is no auto slider lock. What is Nokia thinking? I've been a huge fan of Nokia phones until I switched over to SE, now I'm looking to come back. The N80 is still leaving a sour taste in my mouth.
The bottom line is if you want a stylist and show-off phone. This is the one. The styling can be questionable, but beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. If you want something that works the K series from SE beats the pants out of this thing. Sure the N80 has more features but like other people have said - what use is feature if the phone is dead? Most buyer will probably use at most 50% of the features on this phone. The sad part is the 50% of the features that I normally use do not work on this phone.
well, imo, both N80 and K800 are very plastic feel.
N80 is a brick slider phone. nokia is really clumsy at casing design. too formal, ok for business phone (very satisfied with my E61:), but lowsy for entertainment model. should learn from SE. for slider, they should learn from Samsung.
It has got everything u can dream of..... except its talk time(battery) which iz a mess
