I definately agree with you . The N80 looks great and the features packed with this phone are simply outstanding . Ive been in two minds to buy this phone as ive always used SE , nd using p900 now . But all you ppl who are confused , jus take the plunge . N80 is worth the buy .
to those ppl who talk about n83, i can be 100% sure this phone will not be released until the end of 2008, so guys let's forget about it at this moment
@Adam There is no SE phone (nor Samsung or Motorola for that matter) which come anywhere close to the N80 featurewise. Yes you got the Sharp 903 (best pictures) Tytn (best OS - windows compatibility and most programs) K750i or similar (very small and handy) but the N80 is everything in one device. Try using your local WIFI network from a k800 and you'll see what I mean. Or try configure the D600 etc. as a pocked full blown internet server over a fast and fairly cheap EDGE network. You complain about the size but in reality is only marginaly bigger then a k800 and it has functions galore which blows away any Samsung, Sharp, SE or Motorola. Look at the screen quality and try to think unbiased ! I don't care if is made by Nokia or the Russians or Americans or Osama bin Ladden or who ever. If is the best in its class then is the best :)
I just bought this phone yesterday and prior to this, i am already looking to buying this phone because aside from it has already wi-fi, radio, bluetooth, IR, it really suits my personality and lifestyle. It's like a combination of my Palm T/X, Ipod Video 30gb and a handyphone in one!
It's a great phone. I don't mind the sliding open and close... i see its very stable.
All i can is, NICE! FANTABULOUS!
I got this Nokia N80 even though I did considered SE models with similar specs. However, all my SE user friends told me if I want a phone that works well as a phone, i.e. good reception and reliability, don't get a SE. However, they told me if I want a phone primary as a MP3 player/camera, than get a SE. I want a cell phone thats serves me well primarily as a phone.
No regrets buying this Nokia N80, its the best. Ppl who complaint about the hanging problem with the sms, I don't have it at all, perhaps you need to upgrade your software? Also its not a slow at all, just as fast as the 6230 I had previously.
I dont understand why people are buying this phone so much. It is fat and ugly, weighs a ton and the camera quality is unbelievably bad compared to the SE K800 and even the D900. Not to mention the ridiculous price tag. But all these Nokia freaks keep buying...... All the best to them. Ill enjoy my SE!!!
Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately i have already tried it. but still it hangs when i send messages. i even tried the using memory thinggy as well. can u sugest something else?
The phone looks good and is much smaller then i had anticipated. However, the phone is still very thick (compared to my old V3).
The phone freezes a lot when using camera, internet etc... (not a lot of memory)
I would give it a 4/10
I thought nokia n80 is a very good phone but the battery is a mess....it last for only 1 1/2 days even though i haven't use this for calls..only for 5 texts.....i am really disappointed!
Does the N80 allow you to use double digit speed dialing? For example: dialing 2 numbers such as 12 then pressing "SEND" to call one of your contacts?
I can kick my self buying this phone looks agly.Keypad sensitive when keypad locked and want to handle phone or remove from hipster pounch -answer or end call easy.Phone freeze, and memo card not always making contact Sorry Nokia I am disappointed
I have never heard the quality of sound of the N91 but the music player and sound of the N80 is not rubbish by any means. It is very loud for a start and crisp, thats through loudspeaker, I have not tried it with head phones as I have a creative MP3 player for that, I hear it lasts a good 9 hours though as a music player.
Mini SD cards is tricky. I have heard that some cheaper makes especially the 2 gig ones play up. I have a kingston 1 gig card and it works fine. I am guessing a 2 gig kingston will work just as well, but don't hold me to that. I think my brother has one and he has not had any problems as far as I know.
Thanks very much Ben, hopefully when mine comes tomorrow, it will be brilliant :-)
how does the playback of MP3`s sound?
is it in the same league quality wise as the Nokia N91?
can u recommend a 2GB card for the N80?
what make do i buy, or does it matter?
im not worried about the battery, i carry my car charger and normal charger anyway..
Guys i reccomend you a, N93 cause, if the N83 will comes out, two months later a new version of the n93 will coms out.
Invortianitly, the n90's will be always a
level higher of price and quality and steel the spotlights of the N80's.
So dont stuck your energy on a N80, the
price is already lower, cause not many people
are interested in this phone, and that makes
you inpossible to sell your N80 for a good
price, when the time is come.
So, this was my info.
The decision is still yours.
does anyone know how you increase font size. All other features are great.
I have had an N80 on O2 for nearly 2 months now. In those 2 months it has restarted once and froze twice all due I think to a 'Summer' theme I use as the phone has never screwed up when using other themes. All in all I give it 9/10, 9 because the battery aint the best, lasts about 2 days if you turn off certain settings and use sleep mode. Its the best phone I have use and mobilefun is releasing an extended life battery for it which is 1000mAh. Hopefully that will improve it's life.
All in all it is a good phone IMO.
