It seems noone cares about helping each other on the forum. Myself along with some others are asking for the steps to be connected to WLAN. No replies yet...C'mon N80 owners...
i got my n80 one week ago.great phone;but some lags
*very good camera with good close mood
*great music player(volume not so high)
the most bad thing about this is the battary
life.its realy very poor.please nokia do something with it.
good bye friends
this is not as great a phone as it was promised. I'm sure its got lots of potential and does losts of tricks, but having had it for 2 weeks its already faulting on me. The battery is absolutely appalling!! the Mp3 player will discontinue playlists when it feels like it. The keypad lock is terribly thought out as you have to open/close it to get a lock option. The camera is ok, and the wirless is a nice touch - but you still have to pay for your browsing!! Its already starting to crash on me, and the top plate is very wobbly. Its nice, but i agree for this type of phone you should be getting a lot more for your money!
Mikepact, by default that's all you can do. I could only do that on the N70 as well. But there is a great program called World Clock Pro from www.Psiloc.com which allows you to have more than one alarm!
Just bought this phone a week ago.
I have to set the alarm clock daily.I dont seem to be able to set it for a week like most phones can.
Can anyone help?
Question for Gupta. You're promoting this firmware upgrade for N80. Has anyone (esp yourself) actually done this? And is it the generic update? If it's the generic update, it's not worth it even for the fixes the upgrade allegedly provides. I see numerous posts about it but no Real posts about successes or that anyone has actually done an upgrade. Makes me wonder about the validity of these forums regarding upgrading.
Elsewhere, (asking this one again!) has anyone tried using the IM chat feature on your N70 or N80? If so, what provider did you use and what are the settings? It just amazes me when you have a smartphone with cool programs that you can't use because your service provider doesn't support it! Daft i call it...
I got this phone for two weeks and found it will dial out by itself sometimes even when keypad is locked. Anybody here suffering from the same problem?
the slide of this phone is very easy to get loose, i had it for 1 week and it's getting loose already, don't know how bad it will become after 2,3 months
In response to AXL and krissii who are on Orange - the Orange homescreen that they put on their phones is indeed highly annoying. Why can't they just leave the software as it is?? Was wondering if you or anyone else has tried upgrading the firmware with the guide that Gupta provided, which I think should get rid of the Orange rubbish?
Of course N80 is a better choice out of these two.
HOwever, I would say that even N80 is not the best as it too has some flaws.
what do you think is a better buy in your opinion.
1.)This phone, the nokia n80, features listed above.
2.)The T-Mobile sidekick 3
A QWERTY KEYPAD
mini SD slot
I am just stuck between these two phones and the reason that i cannot decide between the two is because of the keypad
thank you in advance for your answers.
To all N 80 users:
I am requesting again can someone pls write steps to connect to WLAN if we have a wireless router.
I have had my N80 for 2 weeks now and I must say it is not a high quality feeling mobile. Compared to my old Samsung D500 the new Nokia creaks, the battery cover is a loose fitting and the slide has a lot of sideways movement. Otherwise very good but at this price I expected a much higher standard of manufacture.
another way to save your battery is to goto network settings and choose GSM
