The N80 is a superb handset just wish it had automatic lock when the slider i pushed down ,the cameras magic an the best Nokia as put on its mobiles o.k people will say the N90 was better but it was to big for a mobile,Orange is offering the best conract prices an the 3 network say they have had loads of enquires about if they will get the N80 i am sure they will by the demand for this superb mobile
Just got the phone and you can save as many messages as you like and swap from phone memory to card for inbox etc etc. Great Phone!!
Does any one know if the handset will work with any sat nav software?
what a waste of space, waited ages for it now iv got it i dont want it its is cra*
finally after god knows how many months i received my n80 yesterday. definitely everything i expected and more!!!.
Does anyone know if the WiFi UPnP allows it to be used with VOIP - i.e. making Skype phone calls via my PC / wireless modem? Or does it have its own WiFi VOIP setup for use in hot-spots? That would make it extra cool!
yo osama are you crazy..n80 with 2gb card..i can only afford the phone with my pocket money..n91 is cheaper than this if you are looking for memory.do you know when its price will come down.
hahah yeah phones suck here. but hey, we can buy them from the net and just buy them unlocked, a bit pricey though. but the cheapest phone almost all the time each time i compare, is on plemix.com and my friend buys his phone there, its on the list on here too.
That is so true, MLKIDS! All our phones with T-Mob, Sprint, Verizon, Cingular all SucK.
So, I wonder if the FCC and Cingular will work well enough together to get this thing released by Christmas. It was supposed to be my birthday present from my wife this month, but I don't have high hopes for it being released in the States any time soon.
Once again we have THE WORST companies/phones to deal with here in the United States. Ethiopia will probably get this before we do.
I just wonder why you showed so much enlarged example pics of N80 display in it's review here?
So why didn't you just show them at the tiny size as the display really is, so only 35x41 mm?
Those display pics are 3 times higher and wider than the display in N80 really is ; )
People really tend to be keen on technical terms and not the real usability things in these phones. So if phone is just for phoning and music playing and for basic camera purpose, it can be small. But if phone is for viewind pics and especially web pages and documents, it should have bigger display than this phone has.
I wait for forthcoming models, hope they'll be better and don't waste my money on this sketch model.
I'd add these things in N80 review:
- close up images are terrible, they are not clear
- auto-focus in camera should had been a must too, Sony has allso optical zoom in their very thin cameras, it works via a tiny mirror and is situated sideways inside the thin camera - Nokia, use the same
- camera should have lens cover, otherwise it is covered with finger prints and dust all the time, and think about how that affect pictures taken via grease lens ; )
or that one have to clean lens every time before taking pic instead of removing cover side - latter would be much easier
- phone has far too tiny display. at it's resolution they could had offered bigger display (so a bitt better battery too ; )
Can someone please tell me how many messages the SMS Inbox can hold? 100? 200? Can you transfer the message from phone memory to the sim card & visa versa?
The only thing that bugs me about nokia's new handsets is when they put an application on - my example is IM - why da hell can we not use it? In the UK, none of the service providers supports the IM application and yet it's an application on the handset. I'm very keen to see PTT come over to us as i've seen first hand how the americans are in love with it. I think this phone is out next week in the UK :D
