This phone came finally awailable here in Finland too, at the Nokia "home market".

But I must say that I'm deepli disappointed.
Phone is fine for calling and adequate for camera use, BUT certainly no use for web browsing DUE to it's terrible tiny display. Phone is just far too small for such an use. They say that we Finns are anxious to new technics BUT we are straight forward to and can say if something isn't what it should be.
It's not enough for equipment to be just nice and tiny, it must be usable too.

I really waited for this phone to be able to browse web via its wlan connection while sitting on a cafeteria BUT that just won't do with such a tiny display - and even with forthcoming new Nokia browser with it.

So Nokia, and other mobile manufacturers, please develope better batteries and bigger displays if phone is aimed for web browsing too!

bryantpark, I'm also from the Philippines, I just ordered mine from a dealer, got it for 30,500 or approx 575 US dollars. If you trade your N70, and add around 15,000 pesos more, I think that would add up to around 35k (assuming N70 is around 20k). Should be just about right, but obviously, you can find a cheaper price :)

I just saw the phone at my reglar mobile dealer here in the Philipppines. I can get a unit (no contract) for US$ 635.00. If I trade in my old N70, I only have to add US$ 290. Is this a good price?

One thing I'm finding out after purchasing my N70 and activating on T-Mobile is that if you need assistance with settings or support, Nokia USA won't help you and T-Mobile can't help you. I really wish Nokia would quit screwing the US customer.

One thing I like about this phone and the reason to buy is the 3G and Wireless LAN technologies. I took a picture, wrote about it and posted on my Yahoo 360 blog, this was done outdoor...it was awesome! Everything is so easy.

The sound quality for N80 is superb! It doesn't sound like a transiter radio even played at full blast. I used the PC suit to covert music to ACC+ format(was recommended), the sound "crack" at the high pitch. However music with WMA format is crisp clear.

Downloading of webpage is at an acceptable speed.

Video conferencing is great! You can see the video display of both your caller and yourself at real time. But be prepared to get a shock of how your idol looks if you call at "unexpected time"...hehe

Oh! Remember to close applications that are not in used, this will free some memory space and avoid phone to hang.

There're so many features in this phone. But do not expect all are superb. Infact I was waiting for Sony Ericson P990. Again as compared neither one will give you full satisfaction. Most importantly is what you're looking for and what you can't live without.

F4pr:

If the size doesn't bother you then P990 is a better / more powerfull phone with a much bigger screen and battery life. Availability of sw is ok but not as good as for Nokia. GUI is quicker and much more stable than S60.. It's more expensive aswell.

Hope this helps.

mikey You need to bell Vodaphone and ask them for a PAC number make sure they don't give you a PUK number. With the PAC number you can transfer your number from one network to another. Also as soon as you mention a PAC number to a network they will crap themselves and try anything they can to keep you as a customer, so they may offer you the N80 at a cheaper price.

Why are people complaining about the price of this phone to upgrade on Orange. Why not just take out a new contract and get it for 50 quid anyway ?

when people have comment on the N80 (even negative), perfect. You can learn from them. Why an update when there are no problems.

It's a pity comments now dabbles on non- issues.

The N80 is all a phone should be and more ! It's so small, fast and powerful; I connect it to my home PC and browse at a speed of 460.8kbps. When you snap pictures and upload to your system, the resolution is astonding. The sound quality is solid. I did a personal test by sit in a very noisy environmet and yet got clear audible sound. The wrong claims about poor battery is not true, I charge mine ones in three days after much browsing, listening to radio and my various downloaded MP3's.

The new range of Nokia phones don't even compare. The only feature that is relatively new is the 3x optical zoom on the N93. Note the design of all new N-series, they are poor and too big with less functionality.

Lets have constructive discussions on add-ons, softwares avialable for this wonderful phone. Firmware up-grades and other useful information concerning usage.

Guys that keep knocking down the phone should move else where. If they hate the N80 so much, why bother to compare it with other phones. This space is meant for those that want the phone and use it. I strongly believe that their comments are guided by innate insecurities felt towards their brands.

1. Translation is not as easy as you think
2. They have tons of reviews to translate, they must prioritise! N80 is now half-'outdated', with the introduction of so many new high-end phones, PERHAPS, now it's of less priority.

Hope this answers your question.

...............

I wonder why its taking much time to post the review (FULL) for this phone.

I need to know and study every simple thing in the N80.

Oh,and for those who live in the same country of mine, the N80 is no longer for 1000USD but you can buy nowadays for 800$ or even 750$.

after all, i think its the best of the best and the screen is really WOW! even words arent enough to say how WOW! the screen is but its really great.

love this phone though it still little hard to get use to its software.

Might I also suggest Orange, I ordered mine online through them yesterday, paid £49.99 for the phone and £25 a month on a 12 month contract. Best I found so far.
