It's nonsense to read so many comments about photo and video quality... this is a PHONE and it is MOBILE PHONE! It is not photo camera and it is not video camera. If you really want that - buy it. All-in-one will never ever be better than individual specilised piece of hardware. Thos opinion forums at gsmarena are turning into one big spam where people lie either by having and testing the phone before even phone has been released or by fighting each other who's phone has better pgoto/video quality. One big nonsense.
The best smartphone in the world indeed. No matter about a 4GB HD and TV support - there's N91 and N92 for that. I hope an extreme device.
Pay Attention all!!... After playing with the video n of course the camera settings... do u guys (whom already bought it) that the quality of th picture and video taken can be improved!? damn.. im starting to love this GADgEt!!!! Really..!!! Gdluck in playing all the settings q(^_^)p
Hi,with reading all the comments said about the video quality of the N80 being very poor i went to the nokia web page a emailed to there support team asking will the video quality be improved or not i don"t like buying a mobile an its function on it are poor i hope i get a reply from nokia saying somethings going to be done or the N80 will move down my wanted mobile listings so get something done Nokia or its another let down again from you
Got my n80 yesterday on Vodafone. Had a good deal on the contract, and got the phone for free. However i am a little dissapointed with the camera and video quality. I have been playing this morning and i can shoot equally good quality pics with my SE W900i as i can with my n80. Maybe with a little playing of the settings i can get the n80 to be slightly better, time will tell. The only other thing is the operating system menu is a bit confusing at times. Again this may get easier as i use it. It is a great phone but it will take some getting used to.
How can't be available,in Romania is at vodafone since 5th of may a long with n91 and the price wrotten was like "T0 MUCH"! Anyway many that have it won't use it at full capacity......-lots of dods-.At this time is normal to have a digital camera, ipod, phone and laptop as separated things.Everyone wants to have "all in one",you wish the best phone with mp3 player ,take the easiest phone AND a ipod nano-Bang instant fun,but NO i wish my phone to be a camera, music player,pc,playstation3,pda,car,yaht,sexy girl, grow up people the future is not that close.
went to O2 shop today and they dont have N80 ans cant even offer a confirmed in stock date. Does anybody work for O2 or know someone who does and can give us a confirmed release date for N80 on O2
The fault of N80 is when you record video indoors, phone's screen is covered in video noise horizontal across the screen. Out doors the unit is fine but does suffer from video noise when film dark to light areas.
If NOKIA solve this video problem, N80 will be the best sell phone all over the world, and they will make max sales ever made. So is over to them; to either make good name, more sales or lose their image and sell less.
Hope this problem will be reported to NOKIA by the Network clients.
i would like to ask is this phone ringingtone (mp3) is the same loud like se w550i can some one answer me? thank you
Just got it two days ago. 600 euros in Greece. In your description you mention is only available in Silver. Also in black. And is much nicer! Talking time ok so far. Have been talking for close to 90 minutes and still have 4 lines of battery. Battery of 1100 mA could be better for heavy users like me (ie N73 in N80 disguise!). Also not pleased about the fact the adaptor changed.. Throughout the years I collected 8 of them and had one in each corner. eg at work, in the lounge, in the garage, in the bedroom. Now I have to carry the same charger everywhere or the adaptor... Otherwise a phone worth its value and the time I had to wait for it...
"Video is a crap"-thats all you see on user opinion.Just buy 6280 and n80 will take up to 700euros.The features are indeed stunning, but a lot of people would not use the wlan often and they only be happy and proud that is there like feature.Wi-fi another blast in phone industry, basicly its a fast internet connection BUT will not go over phone limits.Infrared.....Nokia put it in there because of numerous complains-here comes another BUT-,but isn't better than bluetooth that is upgradable.Nokia should do a phone like.....7.2 mgp camera with auto focus from se,60gb internal memory with card slot micro sd up to 20gb,wlan,gprs 100mbps,display 20 trilion culors and about pixels-many as hell-,video capure with the smallest resolution 1600x1400, the battery life at least 12 days.If nokia will make this phone until september 2006 i'm going to buy it even for 5000£.
To person 2 posts below me
How can a phones screen be covered in horizontal "noise"????
to all you cats from the UK: would you please stop it with the "I got it for £45" sh1t,
Should be more precise when mentioning video recording on a N80. The fault is when you record video indoors. I sure hope all these people who are going out to get this phone check the unit out before they sign their life away. It is simple put the phone in camera mode, when the camera is activated, image mode is your first option. Then simply press the options key and choose video mode. If your potential new phone's screen is covered in video noise horizontal across the screen you have a faulity unit in your hands. Be sure you do this quick test with only indoor lighting. Out doors the unit is fine but does suffer from video noise when film dark to light areas. Do not believe me test an N70 under the same conditions and no noise at all. It is your choice if the unit is faulty. All the Best
Superior camera but inferior video quality.
Small but thick in size, cute yet solid.
Hope Nokia could resolve the video problems.
Puzzled why the video worst off than n70.
Nice looking phone, good features but will struggle to fit it in pocket. Just a bit too thick !
