first i like to say i got the nokia n80 from my telco.superb piece of equipment compare to nokia 7650
after much thinking and basic instinct, i decide to go for the ''not so popular'' silver n80. hehe..
speaking about my testing on the phone, i got to say, i am eagerly waiting for a patch or firmware for nokia n80. coz i got to say, this is my first time in getting a phone rite after the audit is completed for it. so naturally, u will see laggy screens, slower loading time and buggy system and of coz bad video quality.
but why i decide to get it fast is becoz, nokia n80 should be, in my opinion, one of the hottest phone around this year. no other phone can come that close. notice that nokia n80 advertising in terms on the newspaper and tv are exceptionally low. so nokia is very very sure of this product which is a hit from the start.
speaking about the accessories, i got to say it is quite a pleasant set which includes the audio adapter, 128mb card and a surprise voucher for singapore buyer.
simply saying that those people who thinks the nokia n80 is not up to standard is becoz they are comparing nokia n80 to nokia n70 which is an established phone in terms of firmware and softwares as it is a symbian 9.1.
so u can see..once everything falls in place in terms of upgraded firmware and software, i believe nokia n70 will be at least a mile behind in terms of n80.
so those who wants a nokia n80, i think it is a great time to start saving to get it.
and to those who have the phone, we wait for the upgraded firmwares and the software maker to make n80 be like nokia 7650..A Revolutionary Phone!
has anyone got it playing thru the tele yet as thats one of my reasons for buying this model or do you have to buy some extra gadget or have a special tele...altho some samsung models have this batt is really poor but i suppose this one is not much better
I'm really confused after read few comments about the N80,in my opinion,we should give the device a fair judgement,we'd look at the phone from all different aspects not just it's weakness, people sometime just forgot the goodsides of one thing and just pick out the badsides of a subject.Overeall,I think the N80 is a good phone,I pesonal don't use much video function on my mobile phone and very little photo taken(only needed to).The only thing I dislike about the N80 is just the price(Nokia's phones always come with a very high released prices),if price of the N80 is around Usd 550.00 then it'll change lot of people mind.At the end of the day, remember this's just a phone not a video camera or digital camera so don't expect too much...I'd rather like the N80 compare with SE W900/K800/N90/N70 coz asleast it's the look, build quality and feel very good in hand and it's a slider :-)
this is the best fone out. duz n e 1 no wen this fone will be IN the cpw stores in the UK thanks. replies appreciated.
this phone is definetely great!!! ok the video quality is average but its a lot better than many other camera phones and alot better than the long awaited k800 which is still having the ancient video resolution that i have on my W800 and it really sucks:) so there's no point in critisizing one of the best phones available on the market!!! to the w900 owner: N80's camera for sure is better than the w900....!!!!
thanks for the sample video. wow, the video quite sucks compared to videos taken with my w900i. i was thinkin of getting this for an upgrade but i guess i'll just have to save my money and wait for a better replacement instead. guys, you should check our videos taken with the w900. at 30fps, it just makes the n80's video capability seem ancient. it's such a shame though that se k800 is even worse than the n80 video-wise.
i mean to say delaying the sales of n80...and by that time the k800 will be out
The people who are critizing the N80 are all proberly lame SE fans...and who ever came up with the N83 Scam..nokia is after you and will put you behind bars, for making people not to buy the N80 and delaying its purchasing sales for the SE K800
N80 Video Quality....Pretty O.K..a Bit Sticky But Fine!!!
why is it so that in the specifications its mentioned as 3.2 MP.whereas on the mobile its mentioned as 3 MP.Overall the mobile is very good.it has all the features that one would in ones mobile.Good job Nokia.
i wonder people who are stating that the n80's video quality is horrible, didnt even have time to look at the GSMarena review or WHAT?!!!! whats the piont stating false info for the sake of letting people think twice before buying this device!!!!and for definite the picture quality of the N80 will be better than the N70 !!!!!
the battery life is not too bad can last 2 days for using wifi/ radio/calls also not very thick fits nicely into pockets and handbag
Have they chnaged the metal finish on the silver version from the earlier prototypes? It doesn't seem as shiny/glossy???
Guys! Dun ever think abt getting n90 now, it's a little too late seriously. Coz n93 might be hitting the stores anytime by the next few months. Juz stick to ur n70 if u have one. And remember!
-THE PICTURE QUALITY OF THE N70 AND N90 ARE THE SAME
-THE VIDEO QUALITY OF THE N70 IS BETTER THAN N90! N90'S VIDEO AIN'T THAT SMOOTH AND IT APPEARS TO BE LAGGY
-LOOK AT THE DESIGN OF BOTH OF THE PHONES, N90 LOOKS SO OLD SKOOL
Well, thats my point of view. U guys might wanna think twice yo. Or u will really regret when n93 comes out.
I think N90 currently still the best camera and video phone. Maybe when N93 is out, them we can compared and update again. This N80 camera so so but video horrible (maybe cheap len been used).
I assumed that whether 2 or 3 megapixels is not so significant unless you want to photo print a bigger picture but up to 4R shoul be for a 2 mega phone. The most important factor for a good camera phone is the quality of the len. Disappointed with N80...
btw, how is the camera and video for N90.
I want to sell off my N80 & maybe buy N90.
I hate the inferior quality of the video (N80).
Don't mind the size, as long it has a good camera and video phone afterall, we pay so much for N80 also for camera & video.
Kindly pls advise. Thanks
Can any of the N80 owner please advise that how is the thickness of the phone. Is it easy to carry in pockets?
Thank God this buggar, m9F6 has left forum. He was speaking too much without any sense.
It was like hollow drums sound alot! He was empty from inside. Probably a loney man in society. I think he joined a different forum like lonelypeople.com ;)
N80 is giving so many problems with video shoot. On the other hand, N91's performance has also disappointed the Nokia fans. This new N-series has proved to be a majot flop for Nokia. They must fire their Research & Development Engineers for such pathetic phones with so many flaws.
I feel like a deceived Nokia fan :(
