im really pleased with my n80 but just one question i dunno if anyone can answer:
Like a lot of nokia smart phones it has a gallery for images and video. when you open the gallery you can see all your images and 3gp clips... I wanna know if it's possible to separate them because I don't like having my personal photos displayed with my 3gp video clips :\ anyone know how to separate images from video? I've tried putting the video clips into a new folder but the gallery seems to just find it again lol.
this phone screen is hard to see due to writing being small, how do i chnage this, i no u can. thanks
good phone so far :D
but lets not forget that one of the usability speed's requirement is processor clock rate. (and also RAM, file system and etc.)
being a multimedia phone, its not just the usability speed that matter, but also how the phone handles games graphics, video playback and etc (since n80 doesnt ave any GPU's).. i think this make sense..
From video of the N80 we can see that it is faster then the n70 even with a higher res screen and added features. And even if it stayed with the same processor this would be great cause this would mean that Nokia has effiency on their mind and that it use the same processor but all would work faster and probably a slower processor would mean lower power usage. If it has 300+ mhz, great! But if not also great, cause it stil performance fast.
I think ultimately the processor shouldn't matter but the usability speed. Because if it would be slow with either 200 or 300 mhz we would be complaining. So let's just be happy it's fast.....
Just my opinion
Most phone brands don't publish any infos on the CPU's used in their phones (apart from HTC and other WM device manufacturers) - but Symbian has a reputation for being slow, and therefore 'telling' everybody that newer devices use a faster CPU would make sense imho...
Anyway, n80 should really have this new faster (300+) processor because besides of being the jack of all trades (all standard features for a smartphone) it also have 3mpixel cam (and high res. screen).. if it uses the old processor, saving image @ full res. can take a lot of time (3-5sec.)...
Received N80 two days ago, it is an excellent mobile on performance and functions, But I have decided to return it for a refund as one thing lets the side down, that is the lack of software for S60 series 3 including Tom Tom Mobile, so I have decided for now to stick with my trusted Nokia N70.
reserve at nokia shop but when phone arrive, i did not get one. called them and tell me the phone launch on sat and ask to pick up this morning. when on the way, receive call that the phone did not come today. went to another nokia shop, told me the phone was not officially launch need to wait till next sat. go down to singtel shop and they got a lot of stock for both colours but the price is 100 bucks more than nokia shop. need to pay a price if you cant wait...
hey guys i ahve just received my n80 and beleive my its TINY, light weight, (a little thick) but i had the gx30 which was a flip phoen and is thick, and its thiner than the gx30. (not yet turned it on)
Janice, best solution for u is to never even buy anything so that u will never encounter price drop experience.
my phone is coming 2day :), cant wait. will let u guys no what i think when it comes before 1pm :D from e2save.
You're very wrong, "Hah".. It is really not fair to those who bought the phone first.. Spoiling the market..
Hi, "Disppointing N80 Use", u are selfish that the price dropped for the benefits of the mass. I wonder why people like u exist. But heaven is fair that u get your N80 at the highest price available. Good job.
Singtel Mobile spoiled the market price for this N80. On Friday, checked that they are selling at S$938 with two years contract and next day Sat, they are selling S$738 for normal plan and S$538 for highend plans. Everywhere is selling at S$1038 without contract and ran out of stocks. Btw, Starhub selling at usual S$938 with 2 yrs contract.
I complained to Nokia but they claimed that up to the dealers to sell their recommended price but I told that that next time I will think of the consequences before buying any nokia phone and also customers will lose faith in nokia phones. I bgt N80 st S$1038 at Nokia Shop Wisma Artria.
Lastly, I still keep my N70 and compared with the new N80. Even thought the N80 screen are much sharper but is dimmer (already set to the brightest). Disappointing with the N80 video quality, similar resolution with N70 but a lot of noise and not as clear as N70. The good about this phone when open the gallery, it response very fast whereas N70 quite slow.
I think the best video quality so far is 6280 (VGA 640X480). The plus for N80 it comes with the infrared in addition to the bluetooth. The camera of N80 is not fantastic afterall, waiting for the N93.
Singaporeans, I am holding the N80 and have been doing so since Wednesday =)
Threw away my N91 and N71.
hi guys. just finished comparing specs of both the n73 & n80 and found that they are almost basically the same - feature-wise. plus even a better OS for the n73. question here is which phone will be priced higher, will it be the n80 being higher in the 80/73 thing or will it be the n73 being newer? here in the philippines, 3230 costs a bit higher than the 6630 where the 6630 is supposed to be higher in hierarchy. i am opting to go for the k800 because of this reason as se keeps pricing according to hierarchy and features/technology. nokia tends to go for marketing more - i guess this explains why they have massive market share
