No NOT by website ! Look at Sonyericsson how they've burned their fingers with the k750i online update (it can be hacked by malicious customers). What will be nice thou is a official, free upgrade CD !
according to nokia with the N80 users will be able to update the firmware over the air. I'm surprised that a feature like this wasn't available a long time ago beacause sony ericsson already alow customers to update the firmware from their website.
I wondering about Nokia, when is going to allow us to update firmware by website.. rather than visiting the Nokia Care shop
After 1 week using a N80 (prototype unit), I can confirm: the battery life sucks! Only 1 day of normal use with wifi on a few minutes. This is the most negative point of this fantastic phone.
For all those who did not bother to look at their website for UMA info..
all i know is what i was told by a representative at Carphone Warehouse, which is that they are expecting the N80 on Monday but if they don't get it then they will know for sure when they will get it in. The reason it says May on their website is because up until now no one new exactly when the N80 was being released so May was just a rough estimate.
oh btw.. what is the purpose of HSCSD ... this n80 doesnt have one.. is it consider disadvantage?what is the use anyway?? anybody help??
i have just spoken to vodafone upgrades department(uk) and the mokia n80 and n91 have both been delayed till 26th of april:(
personally after all the delays i think nokia are taking the p**s.
quadband edge/gsm means 850/900/1800/1900. so either you read it wrong or they misprinted. in any event, thier site is right now.
Sorry, URL does not work: this one should...
http://www.nokiausa.com/phones/N80 (and then go to phone features)...
The Nokia N80 is back on the US page (http://www.nokiausa.com/phones/N80/0,7747,feat:1,00.html) - Did you notice that it seems to have lost the 850 GSM band in the process? Or am I reading this wrong?
Per the website... Quadband EDGE/GSM 900/1800/1900 + WCDMA 1900 MHz
Just received an email from Nokia UK, confirmed will be released 2nd Quarter 2006 so this would suggest April
UMA, isn't that an app. to make calls through your WLAN, like Skype? And N80 has WLAN/Wi-Fi 802.11g......
Actually guys lol swap them around, the N92 has wifi b/g and the n80 has wifi UMA - Sorry
Hey guys question for yas! The n92 has 'Wi-Fi 802.11g, UMA' and the N80 has 'Wi-Fi 802.11b/g' ? Whats the difference? and whats better?
If anyone knows it would be great help! THANX!
