It was my understanding that the N80 passed FCC certs last year, even had a link to the owners manual.
Im willing to bet all SE on the market have better cameras aslong as the match is fair. I own an N70 which has a 2megapixel camera whilst my brother owns a W900, the W900 has a much better camera but everything else the nokia is better, i never put in doubt other features of the nokia but just said if you want a camera phone, the best option is the k800, it will be a great phone and another best seller just as the k750i has been.
cmv: Actually, both N80 and K800 are 3mp (3,14mp to be exact). So the only main advantage of K800 is autofocus. Of course, the picture quality may be better as well in overall, but we don't know that yet.
Cheers ATHE at least you actually responded to my question instead of release date this release date that. This is a forum right?
Ok here are the aspects of the K800 which aren't as good as the n80:
- Not quad band
- display : no where NEAR as clear, resolution not as high
- No WLAN/Wifi, a KEY N80 feature
- No UPnP technology, so can't stream to hifi/television
- No EDGE
- Phone is larger and chunkier, not as good-looking.
Only thing which is SLIGHTLY better on the K800 is its camera. 3.2 mpx instead of 3 with autofocus. However this little difference is nothing and the N80 is far superior in all aspects. K800 has NO chance agains the N80, you can't even compare them.
if you guys are prepared to wait for something better than the n80 go for the k800, that phone is going to be much better and will dominate the market for the 2nd quarter. i am a massive nokia fan and have had the odd SE and i can tell you this phone is going to be great, if your interested in a great camera on your phone, buying a nokia is a mistake as SE have the best cameras, everything else is better on a nokia, a camera isnt my main preference but camera lovers should go for the k800.
that you said about in the NokiaUSa that FCC dont accept the N80.. is only for usa? or also is for europe? ... that mean that can be releasred in europe and in usa no?
or not released in not of both places??
GUYs you can carrye 4 bateries wih you for a day !! thats what i would do !
From the NOKIAUSA web site this AM:
The Nokia N80 Phone has not been authorized as required by the rules of the Federal Communications Commission ("FCC
The N80 is late because Cingular demanded they add 850 mhz to their high speed aspect of the phone. That had to have slowed them down a bit, and if it's only a month late BIG DEAL PEOPLE. It's not like somebody died!
Nokia now seems to have realised at last there mobiles should have better cameras they are now going to release a new model the N73 its got a camera with auto-focus on it but no optical soom i wonder if Nokias changed the orginal cameras on the N80 an put this sort of camera on the N80 thats why it my not been released yet
to nokia n80,

This phone isn't even sure to come out...lol
hi. yeah the photo quality is brilliant. its about the best ive ever had from a mobile phone. the phone is a bit big and the battery life is crap but the pictures make up for it. my sister has a 3 mp canon digital camera which cost £300 and they are just as good.
hi, i have a nok n90 but i would like an n80 for its wifi capabilities. do you think i should get this phone or stick with my n90? ive read the 3mp camera on the n80 isnt as good as the 2mp carl zeiss on the n90 and i enjoy takin photos.
I think both phones have alot in them and it is just a matter of taste. However, I would think twice before buying n91 since there is no card slot and if it falls or somthing hits it the harddrive may just break! Everyone knows that it is better not to drop your harddrive.
