i forgot to mention about the 8GB, I'd recommend that if u want speed on transfering, i'd say just take the 2GB, get urself a 4Gb card and use SD card reader USB to transfer MUCH MUCH faster than transfering on the 8GB... 8Gb transfering cache is too slow and long loading time for the music, sometimes it's fast but if u load in a lot of musics and videos it's awhile to load then again when u formatt it its all gone so it's better to have removable i just carry extra memory in my wallet to switch out programs ;D on the 2Gb and 4GB... if looking at the prices on the 2Gb and 8Gb different is about $100, u buy 4 Gb outside or on newegg is about $30-$50 so it's about 6Gb total ;D big saving right there!!!
I'm Currently using the N81 2GB Silver, i think from first batch of phone when it first came out. i havent gotten any update on the phone yet.... but some other models came out later already got update for somereason!!! Talk time: i get disconnected every 4 hours... battery life for listening to music only = about 10 hours, i was able to talk on the fone for 4 hours then call back and still talk for about anotehr 1 or 2 b4 i need to charge.... Speakers are awesome.. Camera is decent, great during day and bad if not enough lighting. Video play back - no continuous to next video clip, cant minimize the video while playing or exit to menu without stopping or paused. Reception is near the camera shortcut button, if that area is blocked, reception is dropping.... so careful other than that i'm loving it ^_^ also Props for the Headset ear buds awesome!!!!
Sup bro,Its working fine for me, make sure its: http://www.n-gage.com
What were you doing when it gave you that message?
Yep SmartMovie works, but you don't realy need it because CorePlayer handles everything.
The N81 is a lot faster than my N80, and even N82 around the menus and at opening at apps, and ye VERY quick boot up time.
My n81 takes 15seconds to boot(just timed it) all symbian's are like that so depends what ya call fast thing I hate is its a huge finger print magnet
I've tried to stream MP3,AAC and real audio of the internet but n81 won't play it.I googled and found out s60 can't do this.I got coreplayer from ipmart.com but it won't play wmv or quicktime many clips are in wmv man this sucks
Just a point about the CPU.Symbian S60 3rd edition(especially with FP1) takes a lot more power to run itself than the 2nd edition,so you can't compare to older symbian's.Some people are exaggerating how fast this cell is,yes acceptable,fast-NO
N81 is easy to use but certainly not stylish,I hate the way light escapes through the cracks around the edges it makes the phone feel so cheap.Neither do I like the way the screen is raised again, this makes the phone feel cheap and looks almost as though someone has refused to take off the plastic screen protector. It's not a bad phone but the built quality leaves a lot to be desired.
Its official, the N81 is getting FlashLite3.0 in its next update: http://www.n81street.com/forum/showthread.php/my-n81-and-its-firmware-1005.html
Unfortunetly no,it doesn't have TV-Out.
The only difference between N81 and N81-8gb is that the latter has built-in 8gb flash memory. Hence, it does not have the MMC slot.
The former has 25 Mb internal memory and comes with a 2gb memory card in its slot. The slot can be used to upgrade its memory to upto 4gb.
So, if you wish to store a very large number of songs, or even movies, go for the N81-8gb, otherwise go for simple N81
I read somewhere that the n81 has TV out capability. Is this true?
hi my friends i,m going to buy n81 AFTER 2 DAY
so before i buy can any one tell me the difference between N81 and (N81 8GB)
can someone please tell me if you can use the wifi feature on this phone for browsing the internet on your phone via wifi or can you only use the wifi for interent call? Let me know, thanks
Is your N81 branded? The total internal memory on mine is 24.7mb and every other should be like that, the amount you have left depends if your Network has preloaded some files in to it. When i got my N81 it had around 18Mb memory left, then i removed the stuff the network put on it and i had 22.9mb out of 24.7mb internal.
Its not a big difference, between N91 and N81 in volume, although it is noticeable.
