Crazy bastard, 19 Sep 2008I just got the phone...before i had the e65 from nokia...both phones are great but the n81 is ... moreYou are right.
Only difficult you will find is that, E series phones would have large phone memory where you will not find in this case if you have bought an N81(normal).
Problem with Memory card.
Whenever I restart my phone, memory card doesn't get deducted. I have to remove memory card once and then plug again to make the memory card work.
The memory card is a 2 GB Nokia memory card provided along with N81.
Is any one facing this kind of problem ??
Any solutions ??
N81 or N81 8 GB.
People who are planning to buy N81, I suggest better go for an N81 8GB. The reason is
* I read in one of the Nokia forum that N81 supports only 4 GB memory card.
* N81 8GB will have enough amount of memory so you will be able to run applications and flash games that is quite large which will be not possible if you have an N81(normal) due to its main memory limitation.
* The phone just fills up phone memory even though you install applications/ themes into memory card in N81(normal).
AR, 17 Sep 2008Pls advise- If any call comes it always shows the number not name, how to make itit is happning coz the numbers are present on both on sim and phone memo.or coz of duplicate enteries of no. so you should erase contacts from phone or sim or delet duplicates.you should keep them on 1.
I just got the phone...before i had the e65 from nokia...both phones are great but the n81 is very different from e65...a lot of new things...i have the phone for 4 hours...so..we will talk again after several days..i hope i made a good deal
chobits, 17 Sep 2008guys, why is it that my n81 doesnt have the quick application and also the trial Ngage game is... moresigh..
you don't have any solution yet huh?
I don't know why this could happened
but,Im sure if you didn't take any risky activity on your phone before then it should be a recondition phone,a black market phone.
AR, 17 Sep 2008Pls advise- If any call comes it always shows the number not name, how to make ithey, if you want your phone to show you the name of the person thats calling as well you should have only antry of that number, sometimes the number gets stored on the phones memory as wellas on the sim card. The best way to avoid your problem is to use only your phones memory...I hope that helps, even though I dont use the N81 I had a similar problem with my N70-1
hi guys,, i just want to ask how to activate the blue tooth headset. thanks

Hi guyz, Im going to buy this phone next week, ahm which is better, N81 or N81 8GB?
Are you guys sure that the n81 2gb(not the 8gb) version supports 8gb card because on nokia forum its mentioned only upto 4gb (Please mail at catchRCP@gmail.com ). I have just purchased n81 and wanted to upgrade its memory so please reply asap.
i am going to be upgrading soon and want to know if the n81 is the way to go. i currently have an n70 and would like a good phone...
I've just upgraded to the N81 and am thoroughly impressed. The thing is, if you are looking at a phone for multimedia, gaming and music, then this is the right phone for you. Features like WLAN,3G, etc... just enhance that experience to make this an overall exceptional mobile device.
KCostas, 16 Sep 2008Here I' m gonna give some secret codes and another way to format the phone (hard reset). *#... morethanks a lot!! my internal memory space was retained !!all i need to do is reinstall those apps. that i need..
ciccy, 17 Sep 2008Hey everyone!
I am about to buy a n81. I would like to know is it anything that they say it i... moreIt is fun, lots of it. Depends on what phone are you using now. If it isn't a smartphone, you'll find n81 a bit complicated. You should understand that if you don't find an option or smth else that you want to be in the phone you can install it (there are hundreds of programs available). Of course, the hardware will stay as it is. No chance to change a camera or install a GPS module. If you want to watch DivX movies, create office documents, watch youtube, create your own themes, play amazing games and much more, just go for additional software that n81 supports. When you get the new n81 you get the superb music player, so you can put your ipod aside and use any headset of your choice with 3,5 milimeter audio jack. You get wifi with brilliant multifunctional web browser, so there's no need to carry a laptop, use voip for cheaper internet calls, you can have a skype on the go. Bluetooth supports stereo output - no wires when listening to the music. There is a support for mass storage, no need to carry cd with drivers, you need just a cable. The screen 320x240 resolution and high brightness with 16 millions colours looks beatiful. Arrange all the icons and folders in the menu the way you like. Navi weel will let you just to touch to scroll with amazing speed. I could continue on and on.
The downsides are the camera with 2mpx no autofocus, and the build quality. The things in the build quality that I dislike are a bit loose slider mechanism (no worsening for me in 10 months of use so), it is strong, just feel loose. And little cracking of the battery cover when you squize the phone tight. But there are so many positive things about n81 that these downsides feel of no importance.
Get the phone and enjoy!
