yes, i searched different related webpages to see he my phone had a problem, but it doesnt. Its just that nokia n81 does NOT have an in-built gps reciever and we have to connect to a device which had a reciever through bluetooth
new n81 user, 25 May 2008how do i make the gps on my phone work? When ever it switches on the bluetooth to catch satell... moren81 doesn't have a integrated gps, that's why you get asked for a bluetooth connection
Feature-wise I can't think of any advantage N81 has over N78 except for the music and gaming keys. N78 has tons more of features in exchange of that. The decisive factor now is price. If you want to save some money, choose N81. If you-re willing to pay more bucks for more features, choose N78. But I think N78 is worth the extra bucks. What I mean is it's cheap actually for the high-end features it's got!!
Wtf is "ghatiya"? is that even English?

@Person asking about GPS
Are you talking about Google Maps?
how do i make the gps on my phone work? When ever it switches on the bluetooth to catch satellite signals, it asks me to select a device with the bluetooth switched on, once i reject it, the gps stops working. Also, the trip counter doesnt work, the time counter starts while the distance covered and the speed remain zero. How do i make gps work on my phone?

In india this fone retails for rs 13,750/-it has a 2mp cam wich is a letdown ; but its da only fone dat has all features except da gps

Proving even the best of us have blonde moments, I replied with your name where mine is meant to go.
There is no silver N81.
Is it possible in all your excitement your brain had a minor overload and you mistook the N81 for the N82? Most likely I think yes.
Don't worry too much, even the best of us have blonde moments O.o

In case ya didn't realise people from all over the world post on here, so there are different prices for every country and every network. It's impossible for someone to know what country you live in and what networks are there just by looking at your IP address. I suggest going to your local phone shop or your network operators websites, it would give you a more accurate price and would have taken less time than asking that question and waiting for a response that no one is going to give you.
It's not impossible to have fake/clone version of this phone. And it's not impossible as well to have a "no wifi" version of this phone as nokia always do with their nseries. I don't know what's the point. It's completely pointless. But they keep on doing it. Releasing crippled version of the original nseries.
The build quality leaves alot to be desired.I long for the day Nokia stop using cheap plastic.A Higher quality finish might have added an extra 10g to the weight but surely that would have been a price worth paying . internal rating 8/10 external rating 2/10 NOT HAPPY
Yesterday I went to nokia and asked about the phone... I looked if they had the silver nokia n81? they told me noo... it doesn't exgist... but i saw it in another shop.. does it mean it's fake ????
I bought a N81 in China (original- no clon ),it is possible that nokia sells a Nokia N81 without wi-fi..?

there is 1 question in ma mind dat n81 didn,t hav the stereo speakerz so plz tell me dat is the sound of n81 is loud as nokia 6233 ?????
plz frndz gmmee a answer of dis question......cz i hav a plan 2 buy nokia n81.....
When it comes to music, N81 is the current best Nokia music phone, i450 is the best from Samsung and W910i is the best Walkman phone ever much better than W960i. There's no war here. All 3 music phones are best in their own rights. Most people who will buy either of the three will end up enjoying their music phone than regretting! If I had much money, I'd buy i450 and W910i also..
Other music related features:
N81 has all the goodies of the Nseries we're familiar of in terms of music plus the addition of 3.5 mm jack, dedicated music keys, Naviwheel which is fun to use really! i450's N95-ish dual slide is nice indeed. The touch control on the slide is similar to the Naviwheel they're both touch sensitive just differ on the direction of how you control them. Presence of 3.5mm jack is also a plus but the music player is simpler than N81, it looks like that of Eseries. W910i music features is so cool. The user interface of the music player (Walkman 3.0) is very advanced and very elaborate, a lot better than N81 music player. Plus it has a accelerometer (motion sensor) based feature, Shake control, that lets you control the playback of songs by just shaking the phone left or right. That's a new innovation, first and only from SE! It's fun to use!
