Hasan, 20 May 2009Hello aaron, I am seeing that you are more active in the N95 8GB forum than the N82 forum! How... moreNokia has already discontinued N82's production, because it was the best yet, says a nearest nokia dealer, and sale of other phones in N series was going down - I agree to how good this phone is
You should not say N95 8GB is best if you can't support it with facts. N95 8GB has no real advantage over any other Nokia all-in-one devices.
On the other note, I've found out the the camera and Xenon flash of N82 and 6220 classic are 100 percent identical. Unlike the cameras of N82 and N85 which have slightly different hardware specifications, those of the N82 and 6220 classic are totally the same camera. It's the same Carl Zeiss optics, Tessar lens, f/2.8 aperture, 5.6mm focal length and same Xenon flash. The only difference is the image results produced by both cameras. N82 has noticeably higher quality image output than 6220 classic. And the Xenon flash on N82 is also more powerful despite being same as 6220 classic. The differential factor, I guess, here is the software.
It's absurd. Coreplayer can't play VGA videos @30fps. It doesn't make use of N82's 3D graphics accelerator. How come? And I've also checked the details of the videos recorded by N82 in the highest quality. It's not exactly 30 frames per second. It is only 27 frames per second. Conclusion is, lack of 3D accelerator in Nokia's latest phones is not to reckoned as a disadvantage. Because N82 and N95's use of 3D accelerator is very minimally utilised only. Apple iPhone is the only device that is serious on 3D hardware acceleration. So next time you compare phones, pls exclude the 3D graphics accelerator. It is not a hardware advantage if the software limits it use.
Dani, 20 May 2009Get N95 8GB, Its the best N-Series!N82 is the best NSeries phone. c", experts says so, selling their N95 for the dark knight!
Hasan, 20 May 2009Hello aaron, I am seeing that you are more active in the N95 8GB forum than the N82 forum! How... moreI don't think N82 will ever have FOTA. And I don't think that there will ever be a next firmware for N82. I think v31 is the last firmware. Nokia are concentrating more on their FP2 devices. I think they've done enough with N82 and N95 8GB.
If I were you, since you've been on N95 for the longest time, I'd pick the N79 next rather than the N82. Coming from N95 and shifting to N82 won't really bring new suprises to you since both of them are basically the same phones just in a different dress. N79, though not a flagship, is a promising phone. Recently, Nokia has released a major firmware update on it that not only improves performance and fixes bugs but also adds new features. Don't you wanna experience holding a really slim smartphone, streaming music via FM transmitter, scrolling on menus just by gliding your thumb around the d-pad, watching nice and cool transition effects throughout the menu and charging every 3 days under moderate to heavy use? Aren't you bored with FP1? FP2 is really nice. Go for N79.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Hello aaron, I am seeing that you are more active in the N95 8GB forum than the N82 forum! However, today I sold my N95 and planning to buy N82 or N79. But I am hearing that Nokia will discontinue N82 soon. Is it true? And a question, is there any chance to add FOTA in the next firmware version of N82? Do you know anything about it?
