how could you say so? n82 is just an ordinary phone? Of course it's revolutionary. It revolutionizes how people come up with night shots just by using their cameraphone. That alone is a great fact. The xenon flash makes a difference. Now can you name one N9x device that could beat it when it comes to that? There's none. Now if we will put it the way you said so, then I could easily say N9x devices are just ordinary phones too. If n82 does not offer anything spectacular in your eyes then how could n9x devices please you? It's as simple as that.
Besides, no one cares if n82 is flagship or not. It has features that kick butt and that's what counts.
I won't buy a phone just because it's a flagship device, I'll buy it because it offers excellent features.
Because if you're looking at it that way, you're looking at it way too insensible..
Louie, 27 Oct 2008To tell everyone here honestly, i don't own Nokia N82 yet. I have my nokia N95 8GB but after ... morea candybar phone like n82 will never be a flagship device because it's not revolutionary and innovative. it is just an ordinary phone. a flagship device should bear a stunning design and form factor like all N9x.
To All who complain regarding their N82 phones:
1) Is your phone Original?
2) Is it brand new?
3) Does it have warranty?
If yes to all, then i don't think you have any problems if you find that something is not functioning well. Go to a Nokia Center, let them check your phone and demand replacement if defective. I don't believe those guys writing here complaining about their phone after 2, 3 or 6 months. Warranty is for 1 year. Batteries are replaceable within 6 months.
My phone is 7 months already. Battery was not good so I had Nokia replaced it. Now its good up to 3days with mormal use.
Had it upgraded to V30 a month ago, very fast and steadier.
Installed 30 applications, no hang ups. No problems.
So guys, next time you complain, read, check and understand nos 1 to 3 before you start bad mouthing N82 here otherwise you must have a fake and second hand phone.
I'm just wondering.... Where is the best place to buy a brand new n82,? I buy a k850 @ fry's but after 5 months it's not working well... I live at Texas so I'm hoping that there is a store where I can buy a n82 last atleast a year.... I was wondering maybe n82 is the answer??????? Thanks in advance!!!!! By the way, can n82 take pix on it's front cam????
daimos, 27 Oct 2008Got it Louie. Thanks. Just wonderin why some people tend to say things that does not concern ... moreTo tell everyone here honestly, i don't own Nokia N82 yet.
I have my nokia N95 8GB but after reading all the comments about Nokia N82, I regret it alot having this black bulky slidy phone.
I'm expecting that sooner or later. I'll have this one as well.
I love this phone. REALLY!
For me, this one should be Nokia's FLAGSHIP.
NOT THAT NOKIA N96.
IT'S NOT WORTH EVERY SINGLE BUCKS WE'LL BE SPENDING, IF INCASE YOUR GOINT TO GET ONE.
To all people who complain about the features, performance of this multimedia monster the N82.
Regarding the camera I have taken many pictures and compared it with dedicated digicams like my 5mp Sony and 7mp Canon (Powershot TX1). To my astonishment, some photos taken with the N82 are better than these digicams. In fact the videos taken with N82 easily outdo the videos taken by my Sony digicam (DSC-W5). Only area where the N82 gets beaten is the focussing speed and shot to shot speed.
The music quality is great and I have observed the bass factor to be much lower than Sony Ericsson phones.
Wifi is absolutely wonderful and gets easily connected to wifi hotspots whereever it is available. I have tried this in many hotels and browsing through wifi is a breeze.
GPS connectivity is fast and reliable. I use google maps for navigation and it is much faster as Nokia maps is not having much coverage in my country except for major cities.
This phone is fully loaded with features like 5 mp cam with Xenon flash, vga video @30fps, TV out, WIFI, GPS, etc.. and it has all the features that the expensive and high end N-series phone have. Everyday I am installing new software and never I have found this phone hanging or getting slowed down.
Some of the software that I have installed are Fring, Google maps, Cclock, Large time, Ccam, Time bar, Light control, Nokia sports tracker, Nokia step counter, Opera mini, Calcium, Mr Lock, Dictionary, Mirage money, Marble maze, Accelerinvaders, Joikuspot, Log export, Energy profiler, Phone locator and dozens of themes.
Believe me, this phone is an outstanding device and don't get deceived by some people who are repeatedly bashing this phone in this forum. It is only 3 months I am having this phone and been visiting this forum daily since this phone was launched. Everyday I am having fun with this phone and I am extremely delighted to have this phone instead of N95 8Gb or N85 or N96 or Samsung Omnia or Iphone because this is less expensive but provides better features in a easy to use form factor and rugged body.
For me the brightness level is sufficient and I keep the light sensor at 50%. If you want more brightness, install lightcontrol with which you can increase the brightness of N82 without hacking the phone.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Got it Louie. Thanks. Just wonderin why some people tend to say things that does not concern us. This is a place wherein we can discuss problems and solutions on our N82s.
from my experience with n82 i can say this phone is not good. battery life is horrible. it wont even last me a day. the keys are such a pain to use. i\'m getting so fed up with this phone. the camera takes quite good pics but not really that excellent
Louie, 27 Oct 2008that's too bad for me... i guess...
for me, i want my phones screen to be as brightess as it ... moreit comes with personal preference now, the N82 screen brightness for me is good enoughc",
n82 has the same processor that of n95 8gb so they have the same speed and they have almost the same softwares on board. they only differ in style, form factor, memory capability and flash.
I have N82 and Sony ericsson W910i, N82 has better speaker than w910i.....
iolo003, 26 Oct 2008the screen brightness wasnt improve with the latest firmware update. thank God for that, i don... morethat's too bad for me... i guess...
for me, i want my phones screen to be as brightess as it can be.
anyway, I have my Nokia N95 8GB, it has a dual arm speed, but with you users about the processor speed, opening applications... startup... ect.
how was that?
iolo003, 26 Oct 2008totaly agree
i consider my n82 a multimedia device rather than just a phone because im usin... moreYep...
I only use Hsdpa or edge since in our ofc wifi is secured.
Is your phone running in v30? maybe not cause music in v30 is really cool, can match even a music phone(headset)
had the phone for nearly a year and all good in the hood one ov the best phones out there the batteryis far better than the n95
Surprised why ppl inquire abt taking pics from the front 0.3 mpx cam
i bought this phone last month, its nice but some features of it are at its basic level, it would be nice if nokia take this seriously and make it up to the mark.
picture quality is nice but the music output is very less compared to its basic phones
i hink the rating is more compared its features
celladik, 26 Oct 2008I agree with that, i usually set the brightnes to lowest when br0wsing. It is really just fine... moretotaly agree
i consider my n82 a multimedia device rather than just a phone because im using it more in that purpose rather than text or call. more likely surfing the net and chat(i dont spend prepaid load thru this) using wifi , watching divx or listening 2 my fav tracks, playing games etc.. i was lucky 2 have wifi routers at work and at the house so i never run out of internet conection
N82 is an all rounder marvel!
