I have a question that some of you may help with clarifying.
Is it possible to use Maps without a network connection/GPS? I don't need navigation/positioning features, all I want is plain country/city/street maps. Without a network connection it shows me a satellite-like view of Europe and nothing else. If I zoom in, I just get a rough outline and that's it. Not even country borders, let alone cities. Are these Maps really a dud without a data connection?
we love this phone, who do you think knows best about this phone than us, the owners c",
The N82 is a true exceptional all in one phone. Whatever the s p a m m e r s are talking b a d here is not true. I have it and I love it.
RTP, 23 Aug 2008Most reviews miss a crucial problem with the camera of the N82 (and 6220, N95, N96, etc): mo... moreYou are right. The camera settings are back to the default settings and do not store the customized settings. I too find it a problem because everytime you need to change it the way you want. However I think Nokia have done this purposely so that common users will not go deeper into the settings and fiddle with thereby losing image quality.
Yeaaaa plzzzzzzz use English only.... we all are using this forum... Also Please SE lovers plzz leave this forum or dont try to put nokia down.
pepz, this is an international web page, we must stick with the rules c",

iolo003, 23 Aug 2008as far as I can remember, Dani ask me before as to where he can buy the cheapest Nokia N82 in ... moreActually he's a pure SE fanatic Until such time that he's K850i was broke and in repair. He take his words back in most of nokia forums as he felt that moment down being a SE user but now seems that he's K850 was ok then back to the same Dani i used to know. I'm a 5700 user and i witnessed how Dani and other nokia users specially Tsepz keep on fighting on 5700 forum. He want all the users to shift to his beloved SE. Thats what i think ^_^
Most reviews miss a crucial problem with the camera of the N82 (and 6220, N95, N96, etc):
most settings changes (ISO, white balance, flash off or always on, etc) revert back to default when the camera is switched off. While setting the settings is not too hard, it is a pain to do it each and every time one starts the phone.
Otherwise the camera performs well and the protective cover gives me piece of mind as well as an easy way to start and stop the camera.
The phone has wifi and internet telephone capability, but no UMA - a real pity as it cannot be used with services like tmobile hotspot at home that allow me to make "free" calls when on WiFi. Strange, too, given it includes many similar services for VOIP / internet telephony.
as far as I can remember, Dani ask me before as to where he can buy the cheapest Nokia N82 in the Philippines. I guess he change his mind already, the thing he do best since he always shift sides, before he was a Sony Ericsson fanatic, then became a Nokia fan and now hates Symbian. c", this guy is very funny, i am not surprise.
