Ur light sensor works well, because that's what it does! to maintain the backlit of the screen so that it deosn't appear to be too bright in the dark and not too faded in the light
There is no point in comparing N82 and experia because they are in a different class!
lets try to stay on topic...
as regards N82 against N73, there is actually a need to discuss their similarities/differences since N82 is meant to be the successor of N73
regarding the SCREEN:
N82 light sensor s****! that is probably the reason why the N73 screen seems more vibrant. Light sensor is meant to detect light and adjust the brightness of the backlight accordingly.
I dont know how nokia engineers program it, i tried facing it with a lamp and also covering the light sensor, thus mimicking a dark room, but the backlight remained the same, if it indeed changed, then i couldn't notice it. the screen seems washed out, its not as bright as N73.
it's actually a waste of the 16M screen, which brings me to another point.
A human eye can perceive only about 10M color, but can actually only differentiate at most around a hundred thousand of color. plus, considering that the size of the screen is only 2.4 inch in 240x320 pixels, it's impossible to spot the difference.
regarding the PERFORMANCE:
this is where N82 excels.
It is indeed worthy of being called a N73 successor. The processor is much faster, it has now a clock speed of 333mhz, which means that the processing time is shorter. It is obviously faster than N73, it doesn't lag as much when scrolling or scanning files and takes pictures much faster, in fact, its much faster than N95original.
also, having 128MB really helps a lot, multi tasking is a breeze. No more insufficient memory, unless of course if you push it to the limits. This would also mean less chances of freezing.
why didn't nokia just use the backlighting technology of n73 to n82 so the display would be as great as n73..
of course n82 is a better phone.. bu if were talking only of displays... nothng beats n73, I have to admit it...
yeah you're right, got curious because of the comments of people so i tested it myself.. Ad yeah, n73 really has a better display.. It's a big difference..
hey.. wait, to the one person belw who said many people are jealous to n82.. Clear it up man, I love n82, love it.. but let's not think irrationally.. I love n82, and i hate to say it that it has some imperfections too.. One of which the n3 beats it at screen brightness.. You won't even notice the difference in color support.. yeah it supports 16.7m colors and n73 only has 262k colors.. bu who would notice that?? What's more noticeable is the brightness... N73 has a brighter screen, better screen show...
Yes even n82 has flash lite 3...and you can watch youtube on it...
Ok, this phone looks pretty good but I'm stumped on something, can this thing watch video off YouTube? I'm sure the reason most people want the WiFi is because it allows them to stream videos. What I'm hearing off others is the N96 has this Flash Lite 3 or something that allows it to watch most video. So does N82 have this program?
Hey guys I Need Your help ... I want to buy a phone but I couldnt decide which one either N81 8GB or N82 ... I was reading comments and surfing in the net about it like for 3 days :D a little bit exagerating ... Plz could you guys suggest which one to buy ... there is some price difference so anyway which worths it's price... thanks in advance ... ur suggestions are really appreciated ... ;)
I have this phone and i love the whole design, the keypad works very good!
you gotta admit dude,
the design is not worth the 8.7 people have given it, that keypad its horrible, its as if they forgot to put buttons in until the last second. must be pretty irritating on your fingers to text on that phone...
yes, im sure the spec are brilliant..al hail nokia and all that, but the design really lets it down in my opinion.
u r right "it's soo... ugly"! still it's no. 1 from ny other mobile...!! :)
though I am not an owner of an n82, I would like to point out several things from his posts
comparing x1 to n82
you say x1 has an advantage at the processor as the x1 is clocked at 500+ mhz whilest n82 is only at 330 mhz
n82 is like n95...it has a multicore processor
you cant really say which is better x1 may be faster but n82 owns it in efficiency
though x1 has 4 led lights....n82's more powerful xenon flash still owns it
x1 no doubt has a better screen and you'll probably be able to view videos and pictures better with it...
but upon uploading the videos taken and the pictures taken to the pc...which one would own?
clearly n82 will beat it with it's 5mp camera(even though mp count has nothing to do with quality...one cannot deny that there are times where size does matter^_^ )
Charge the battery overnight for the first 2 nights, best each charge should be over 14hrs. Li-ion batteries do not need to deplete before charging again, in fact depleting battery will damage the battery. So just charge it 14hrs, use as normal for the day then charge 14hrs again, it should have pretty good lifespan after that. The reason for charging overnight twice is that there are tiny wirings and cells that takes quite a while for electricity to pass through and fill up fully. Can read up from the internet on li-ion battery care. I read form http://www.mobileshop.org/usertech/batterycare.htm hope it is useful :)
I just bought this phone yesterday,it was excellent so far. There is an argument about battery charge. Question: What is the properly way need to be charged for the first time? Thanks
Want to know;
- Is the screen bettr than N73 Screen
- How big is the screen compared to N73/N95
- Is der any difference between N95 & N82 Screen Quality?
- Does it do DVD Recording like N95?
