I've read here that its loud if you load the new firmware, but only God knows where to get that new firmware! I have this set, sound is quality very good but not very high like my old N95.

well I have had the phone for over a month now and have a few things to say.

1. The imaging department is great. The flash does its job well and the picture turn out nicely exposed and focused.

2. The music side of things is quite weak. I am using a pair of Sennheiser CX300's and the quality is not up to scratch. These are good head phones (for the price) and I am quit disappointed considering this phone superceded the N81 (which is great in terms of audio quality). My W950i was fantastic (don't shout that this is a camera phone and not a walkman phone) and I miss this.

To cut it short I now carry my iPod with me now, which I didn't with my SE.

3. Battery is quite good for the amount of features this phone packs in. Two days and a bit if you squeeze:)!

4. Multitasking: The S60 user base may be bigger but S60 is not as task orientated at as UIQ 3. I find it difficult to HAVE to switch to the task manager to select a new application.

I have one question though. How does "Assisted GPS" work? I know it needs an outside connection beside the satellite and this incures a charge but how much data will be transmitted on a hour (or so) long trip with the voice navigation off?

So thats the brief outcome within the span of this month. Nokia lacks the flare of SE but the N82 is a fast stable platform with many features. A user interface update is seriously needed though (graphics, maybe a flashed based theme or two like the T650i), because like it or not eye-candy sells.

i'm seriously thinking of buying this phone because of it's superb imaging features... but i'm also very particular with the speakers coz i don't want to compromise my "listening experience"... is it really that bad, guys?

Hey there guys,

I am due for an upgrade and have been contemplating between the HTC S710 and the SE P1i. I stumbled across the Nokia N82 a few minutes ago and the reviews so far seem to be good. I like the funcionality of the SE P1i but to be honest SE is butt ugly!!!

If some one could convince me of the better phone I would appreciate it!

Thanks!

@ICS

Yes, you're correct with that...but it's obvious already the picture quality taken by the N82 is really good especially in less light and total darkness. You're not blind and neither am I and you know that! So SE K850i is definitely a loser in that case!

*Correction

When saying imaging is best, it's a personal preference. While as I prefer pictures taken on the N82, many others prefer the K850i. My best advice would be to test them both out before getting them.

@Amr

N82 is definitely better. Better all rounder too, packed with Symbian S60 V3.1.

With a new firmware not only comes new features, but a faster platform as well.

Since you're comparing K850i to N82, I'd say you were comparing for imaging quality. The N82 is currently the best in imaging capabilities, excluding handsets released in Japan and Korea.

It's simple, as I told you guys before, you can look the specification of each phone you had mentioned and which got the best for you. I think this SE W960 is more of a walkman stuff, so I guess it's more in a music side of phone, so if you like to hear music all the time and not really into photography or don't mind what's the outcome of your photo when you take one...then SE W960 is for you...BUT if you like a very good quality of pictures almost perfect result when take pictures especially in the dark then N82 is the best gadget for you. Music in N82 is very nice too. So for me I recommend you the N82 because for me it's got everything in one package already. If you want more sociable because it's got a touchscreen then SE W960 is good for you. They've got different specification of a phone but if you compare the two N82 is way the best of the two!

@ BEN,,,thank you for that,,we all need help at some point and often make a comment on something we have just found out about the fone to tell or inform others about or share info but to ask over & over again is tiresome..I also like a good debate about when 2 manufacturers release a similar product and which comes out best "BUT" hate it when the argument turns to people saying s/e is best, s/e for life ,nokia are rubbish,,nokia is the best etc because it does nothing for the argument,,you have to say exactly why you think that and you may have a true valid point..What is someones meat is another ones poison !!

I am unsure about latest question as the number only comes up on my fone not the name when i recieve sms???? Now some people have stepped in with solutions which i will try later because the gadget show is on in 20 mins...

TO DREW.
Check your to see whether you are not having double names stored in your phone. If you do, delete one from it. The caller name will appear in your phone when calling you and same to message.
Thanks.
