Based on the market research released by Gartner, in 2007 the mobile phone market registered more than 1.15 billion units sold. This is more than 16% increase compared to 2006 (990.9 million units sold). The developing markets (China, India and others) played a great role in boosting the numbers. In the developed countries, such as the US, Canada, Germany, France etc., most of the consumers already had their phones, but were looking for replacements with better functionality (hi-res cameras, TV support, GPS, etc.).
The leader in sales for 2007 is Nokia with 435 million units sold. In Q4, the Finnish company managed to gain 40% of the market share, but it will still need to stabilize its positions in the US. Perhaps it should try to offer some of its N-series with a service by one of the major wireless players on the mainland.
Company Sales in 2007
Market Share (%)
Nokia: 435,453.1 or 37.8%
Motorola: 164,307.0 or 14.5%
Samsung: 154,540.7 or 13.4%
Sony Ericsson: 101,358.4 or 8.8%
LG: 78,576.3 or 6.8%
Others: 218,604.3 or 18.6%
Frankly i m nota nokia fan. but when i baught N82 (my first nokia) i was shocked to see its performance. it is the fastest nokia set i've ever seen. and belive me it can easlly beat k850 with configuration and performance. very very good set.
To, the proud owners of N82. Can the flash used in video recording too? If yes, then how? How's the battery backup? Is it good? Thanks in advance...
Got my N82 today. Man this phone is awesome!!! I like it better than the N95-1 because the speed connection and operating system is faster, excellent camera, and love candybar phone! The only thing I noticed about the N82 is the speaker on the phone was not that loud like the N95. Other than that the phone ROCKS!!! I will highly recommend this phone over the N95-1.
When will the black edition be available??? This phone is far better than N95... the N95's slide function easily gets loose if you're the type of user who often slides the phone to txt or whatever use... Don't believe those guys that the keys are not good, in fact they are easy to press and you can't go wrong unless you have very big or very small fingers... hehehe! I recommend this one over the N95.
This is an ugly phone. Better wait for the black one. It looks better definitely. I think nokia should style their high end Nseries phones well, make it not a big brick. I sold mine and will wait for the black one or the new n96.
N82 doesnt look so stylish. although it has many features, but still it looks cheap. Nokia should improve its higher priced phns look and should provide cover.. like N73 on the back side..
poor battery life specially when you play your music and videos
Hello To All Kabayan!

How to rotate the idle screen?
I used rotate me and landscape pro but they didn`t worked!
Want Want!! I'm not saying that cuz I'm poor, its because my N95 8GB not doing it for me anymore! Want Want!
Although the phone doesnt look that pretty I admit I do like its specs. I have a serious questions for those who keep saying that Sony Ericsson phones are much better than Nokia... I had a nokia 6630 which was a very satisfying and comfortable to use phone. I then switched to nokia N71 which is just about the most ridiculous phone ever built by nokia with crowded small keys and the key pad scratched the screen no matter how careful you are. It made me feel bad about nokia altogether and I got the said to be awesome Sony Ericsson K800i... which turned into a nightmare... continously halting...switching off...disconnecting off the network...giving sim errors...I changed the software...problems presisted with the exception of swithching off... It took ages to save a piture taken by the camera and many times I lost good shots I wanted to take waiting for the snail slow device to save the previous picture... and someone please tell me ... on which phone that expensive in the 21st century am I not able to see call durations on the call log..answer SE K800i... mp3 player cannot be started during a call while its possible on nokia's as old as 6630...could not delete multiple contacts after marking several items...its either all or one by one...ana a very very smartly designed sim card slot..but remeber to grow your finger nails if you need to remove it from the device for any reason. Try to know which number for a certain contact sent you this sms if the contact has multiple numbers...tell me how much time it took you... the only way I could do it was to use number..call. The so greatly reputed battery of SE lasted only 1.5 days meaning either charge it every night or carry the charger around. That phone annoyed me with its small and silly design mistakes and lack of features which I cannot remember in full that I sold it out in a brand new condition...though I prefer business oriented feature phones I am going back to nokia and will just be more careful which model I choose. Nokia need to pay attention to battery power and system crashes on N-series.
The color "SILVER" that look's like a Sardine cans is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ugly! NOKIA design are bulky and heavy when you put them in your pockets not like SE phone their design is cool and slim which is not heavy and you can easily put them in your pockets!!! NOKIA N-SERIES are all the same!!! THIS phone is UGLY!!! the design looks like a sardines can!!! HA!!! HA!!! HA!!!
