Build quality not the best. After a few days use, top part of slide becomes wobbly.
a lot of frustrated N95 8GB owners are posting their comments , but the truth is the N85 is the winner. Use it just for a day and then yuo will understand the difference between these 2 models. N85 is way ahead in everything-the display, battery life, memory card, the size , slim body, new symbiam feature pack 2 ,FM transmitter, dual LED flash, great screen orientation sensor etc. to name a few. Infact this model has been launched to repace the good old N95.go to the mobile-review to understand the importance of this model. so the owners of N95-dont get jealous of N85, let others enjoy this new N series wonder
Anonymous, 27 Nov 2008how is the FM Transmitter on the N85? the fm trasm is great.
Hello,
I bought the N85 yesterday and I begged the shop to take it back from me today. it has a major manufacturing issue with the front D pad. Not only is the navi wheel feature is all but usable, the pad it self it a nightmare to use, clicking when you don't want it, and not responding when you need it and giving all sorts of plastic squeaky sounds with a cheap handling feeling of the front plastic. worse yet it will cause your thumb to blister :S
I thought my device must have been faulty or something, and tried others, but it turned out to be the norm for this model.
On paper it had the best specs i needed, but now I'm back with my old N80 until something more user friendly pops out.
As an owner of an N85 (upgraded from N95) i can tell you that the battery in this device is AWESOME compared with the old N95.
Im sure if you didnt play with it you woudl get 10+ days standby, but i spent 30-40mins making phone calls, 2hrs of sat nav to get to work and home (for traffic alerts) a few texts and maybe an hour of browsing a day on the web using WIFI. with this sort usage i get about 3 days life from a fresh charge.
There r any problem in nokia n85??
plz tell me & all by mail / post openion

JustBeks, 26 Nov 2008it looks like a really cool fone but i've found that almost all nokias do not live up to their... moreyou're probably not charging correctly.. i had an n80 and it was the greatest phone until, after 4 years of use, the screen started failing. but, it surpassed every expectation and even at the end the battery made it through 2 days w/out a charge. your charger input is probably messed up, make sure you can see that the phone is charging on the battery part
Jeico, 27 Nov 2008Nice phone, is this phone has a xenon flash? Pls reply.. thankyou... not a xenon flash, i think a double LED light flash, super bright.. it allows light to stay on for video recording. you can find pictures & videos online taken with the phone. even my n80 used to be AMAZING in terms of photo/video quality. it's unparalleled

JustBeks, 26 Nov 2008it looks like a really cool fone but i've found that almost all nokias do not live up to their... morepls check you WLAN settings. This should be the reason why your battery is going down so fast. When a phone comes int a 3G network and keeps cpnnecting the WLAN the battery can run out really fast.

it looks like a really cool fone but i've found that almost all nokias do not live up to their battery life claims. my nokia n80 has to be charged twice a day and i've tried replacing the battery twice. and i hardly use it. it's the same with my friends nokias as well regardless of what model. if nokia can get their battery life sorted out, ill consider buying another one. for now im going back to SE
Hello readers you know N85 is the second phone from NOKIA which has OLED display, first was 7900 PRISM which was only 2.0 inches 240 X 320 resolution. the only difference in N85 is 2.6 inches but the same old 240 X 320 resolution.
NOKIA please dont stick to QVGA resolution,go for VGA or WVGA resolution for your next N-series phone...
Anonymous, 26 Nov 2008it is hard to say since symbian games much more fun than java gamesI agree about the games, but I believe that there will be major developements with Android ops as it's an open ops.
My main concern with Nokia is there build quality nokia's build quality used to be the best but has deteriorated over the years
N85 tips from Cyprus.
Power Saver Date Display
Currently only on Nokia N85, you can illuminate the time and date permanently during power saver, instead of using backlight dim on the other phones. On most phones, you have to press a button to see the time. You can see it is more visible on the Nokia N85. This setting can be found at Tools - Settings - General - Personalization - Themes - Power Saver - Date.
Transitions and Animations
The menu transitions and animations are off by default. The setting to turn it isn’t that obvious to find and buried through numerous submenus. To turn it on, go to Tools - Settings - General - Personalization - Themes - General - Options - Theme Effects - ON. Whew! I can’t believe how hard that was to find!
