Louis, 13 Nov 2008hey man what is the problem with oled screen? im about to get an n85 but while i was reading t... morenobody can really tell the actual problems of oled this soon. you will know about it as time goes by and people start to complain about it.
I was gonna buy this phone, but after reading all the things about OLED display, I decided to wait.
Do you know if the N85 refresh is going to have OLED screen too?
Anonymous, 13 Nov 2008hahaha i think some people jealous the OLED screen the brand they use doesn't have a stunni... moreIt's not jealousy. There is disadvantage in oled. I've already given the link about oled displays from wikipedia.
I still haven't made up my mind yet on whether or not to get the N85 now seeing that it will most likely be re-released with my N82's xenon flash or if to get it now. I've never experienced dual leds. My first Nseries was the N82. I'll make my mind up depending on whether or not the upcoming N85 will have expandable memory to go along with that 8-16Gb on board memory
NaK, 12 Nov 2008Hey, N85 is selling here for $600cad and N82 is selling for $500cad. Which one should I get? i think u should travel somewhere in the middle east
its pretty cheap
n85 is like 150$-200$
Go for n85 because the n82 is 1 year old!!! the n85 is better in everything!!!!
Louis, 13 Nov 2008hey man what is the problem with oled screen? im about to get an n85 but while i was reading t... moreOLED is not so new as a few people state here, it exist already a few years and was used by Samsung a few times for small external displays on mobiles. Oled is a low power LCD screen with a good to very good contrast,if it will replace the LCD display is difficult to say, the advantages to LCD are not that big and traditional LCD seems still to be better, but as everything in electronics, what not is today will be there tomorrow. LCD or OLED....
Louis, 13 Nov 2008hey man what is the problem with oled screen? im about to get an n85 but while i was reading t... moreThe phone and screen is brilliant! I just wish that Nokia would confirm the screen life and durability. Nokia must of tested it.
I am in the process of emailing Nokia as I would like to purchase this phone
Onslow, 13 Nov 2008Not jealous I have always had Nokia phones, I will wait a year before I purchase an OLED scree... morehey man what is the problem with oled screen? im about to get an n85 but while i was reading the opionions specially your opinion made me doubt about this phone can you answer me pleeasee
how can i use this as a modem? i tried but it isn't recognized by my computer as a modem even though pc suit says it's connected.
Anonymous, 11 Nov 2008if n85 had a 16gb internal memory and media keys around the dpad, then it would not be n85 any... moreyes
I was thinking about N96 with arm 11 369mhz,FM transmitter & Li-ion 1200mAh
or N85 with 2,8" screen,16GB harddrive & media keys
one of them would be the most perfect phone beat the innov8
Anonymous, 13 Nov 2008hahaha i think some people jealous the OLED screen the brand they use doesn't have a stunni... moreNot jealous I have always had Nokia phones, I will wait a year before I purchase an OLED screened phone. TVs are also starting to use OLED screens.
hahaha i think some people jealous the OLED screen
the brand they use doesn't have a stunning screen like N85
I was choosing between the N85 and N82. Took about an hour playing around with both phones in the store and I finally decided on the N82. Although N85 has some advantages over the n82 such as the oled screen and the battery, it seems that the extra $100 over the n82 wasn't worth it. N85 has usb charging, but from my past experiences with usb charging, the socket eventually came loose over time(not saying this will... but it probably has a greater chance of it becoming loose since it is used for charging and syncing). Also, I found that the oled screen isnt that great to me. The colors seems to be too warm for my liking, and from what I have been told, the screen is very hard to see under the sunlight. Also, the slider of the n85 that I was playing around with was a bit wobbly, and the front looked a total mess due to massive amounts of fingerprints after an hour of testing.
OLED is a great screen but it is not durable and it is organic.
Don't start complaining when you drop the phone and the screen breaks you have been warned!
costs PhP23,800 in Manila (about 390 euros) with 1 year official Nokia Phils warranty
I swear the more choices on the market the harder it is to decide, I'm getting dizzy trying to decide. I own N95-2 that phone is wicked. If N85 is just a bit weaker then I think it's worth it. Too bad it didn't have 8gb on board memory plus 8gb external. That would have been the cats meow!
dare what it takes to be, then we shall so because it is! to do or not, now or what else to be without!
for the frizing of the videos, the problem is the msd card because of 8gb its on the limits of the fhone can handle, there are two solutions, format the msd card on your pc of course you have to back up all files like data,maps.images...etc,or use a smaller msd card, 4gb for instance, you can try your phone by extract the card and try to use your phone memory the phone is faster and no frizing, the problem is msd card,by another one of 8gb and test it.
