for me, n85 is the best among all nokia nseries slider phones. the fact that it has a great active matrix oled display that doesn't need a backlight for picture illumination is just so cool. the pixels in the screen light up themselves. even when the phone is in power saver/screensaver mode, you can still see the screensaver in the screen even at total darkness because the pixels make the colors in the screen come alive. that's incredible. this phone seems to be the most solidly built among nokia slider phones. it's slim and has a good choice of materials, not cheap plastic like other nseries. the good thing here is it does not only have a 5mp camera & vga 30fps video recording, but it also improves the sound quality. this is the true all in one device! i like the n96 but thats so pricey. n95 8gb ive always liked but im afraid of the build issue and the sound quality via headset is pathetic, not ideal for a music lover like me. if n96's price will go down to the level of n85 price next year, i might buy that. but n85 is really really tempting. the screen, the battery life, the dual slide form and build, the design, the fm transmitter, theyre all too good to be true! this is the ultimate multimedia device!

3d accesltor don't do any thing and there is no difrence but single and dual proccesor because no phone take it is max speed of the procesor it take what it need and it is impossiblem even to rish 250 so it is no differnce plus this phone is n-gage supported so every game run on n82 and n96 run on it with the same speed and in 2009 they will relese a 16 and 32 gb microsdhc memory card and this phone run and realy what u can do with all this memory for me 2 gb is engouth and it have the same camera and it is run s60 3rd edtion feature pack 2 while n82 run feature pack 1 and it is a dual slider phone and it use extra keys in games so it is gerat in playing but n82 is candybar phone plus n85 is smaller so n85 is better than n82 and thank for reading

I'm definitely buying this as soon as it's released.. am getting bored with my N95-8 and P1i.
Any idea of the launch price? Has anyone bought this yet?

N85 lacks 3d accelerator but it comes with a decent sound processor included. It can play music up to 30 hours (N96 14 hours). Video playback must also have been improved. Audio Quality is above N95 similar to N96 but still not as good as N91&N81.

Definitely better than N96 in terms of performance and quality.

N95 8GB: still the ultimate Nokia but bulky design

N85: a N95 with lower overall performance (N-Gage games are still playable), better audio, much better power management, better display quality, sleek design

N96: don't buy it.

Don't know why people are so excited about that phone. Same ugly look as N81, heavy, no hardware accelerator, probably quite expensive...But anyway as i need to change my old phone i will probably buy it, if 8500 doesn't come out before

the best unit of nokia so far for me, its quite fast, feel it for yourself. it boasts

Processor Speed: 520MHz

So it's really a tossup between the better camera or the touchscreen.
