Lame nokia. Same old boring design. Please nokia, produce new phones that will make us feel we bought another cell.
this device is pointless with the n96 on its way into retail stores, there virtually the same, nokia what r u playin at....
the good thing with OLED is its color clarity, it looks great even in different angles, as the screen illuminates itself ((like when you and your friends look to the screen together)). as other lcd-type screens use backlights for illumination, which when viewed from diff angles the image/screen gives difference in color/hue (making it less near to real color), since they are not illuminated well. Maybe, this is also the reason it saves battery-life, as NO back-lighting is required. The question is, how long is its total lifetime ??
There are rumors that this type has shorter lifetime usability. but for sure, it will last for 3-6 years (and that's not bad at all).
One thing i don't like is that it really looks similar (aesthetically) with n96 and n81. how i wish they created different design, given the sleek executive-look or so.
Would you look at that... another N81, or N96... can't Nokia come up with a different design.. all their phone's look exactly the same.. and thats boring...
I've got a simple question, why nokia always comes up with a small screen phone, small resolution but yet a million color screen, well who cares about the million, billion color it has, isn't screen resolution is the most important stuff? Nokia fans????...
Confused?, 27 Aug 2008Any opinions on the N85 vs N96?
I was going to get the N96 but not sure now.

Any opinions on the N85 vs N96?
I was going to get the N96 but not sure now.
Looks like the N85 has a longer battery life, slightly thinner, has an FM transmitter.
The only thing better with the N96 is 16GB built in memory, bigger screen - is the N85 OLED better than the N96 screen, what are the differences??
Is there anything else that makes one better than the other?
Would be interested to hear other opinions.
but n95/ n95-8gb have dual 330mhz cpu whilen85 would have 370mhz singe core cpu
Amir, 27 Aug 2008Yes or no ?

in my openion n85 is better than n95, as it´s smaller in size, fp2 and with better battery, although the built-quality of n95 is better,,, n95-8gb has slightly larger screen and more memory, but it lacks fb2 and is also so large in size,,,
jack, 27 Aug 2008do you think the dual-LED flash will produce nice pictures at night or is it just the same old... morethese dual leads are very powerfull Ive seen it on the n96 on the internet on a video, plus leads dont need rechargeing plus it also saves battery power!
The biggest technical problem for OLEDs is the limited lifetime of the organic materials. The intrusion of water into displays can damage or destroy the organic materials. Therefore, improved sealing processes are important for practical manufacturing and may limit the longevity of more flexible displays.
i must say, the (AM)OLED technology is great. just a pity nokia took so long to use it, 1st in Nokia 7900 (aug 07).
SE used it already in Z610i in Aug 06.
anyway, OLED is the future for all phones.
i guess most of the folks here are failing to appreciate the OLED display, trust me it has to be seen to believe it, its just awesome.. this single feature "alone" will make it sell like crazy..
