husi, 26 Mar 2009hey thanx man!! and what about the pencil key option? ' n85 doesnt have a pencil key, so its... moreThere is a "copy & paste" in N85. If you are in TEXT MESSAGE mode, you just need to press OPTION>EDIT TEXT>COPY or CUT. then a START option will show on the left button, just press it and use the 4-navi keys (left & right) to highlight the words you wanna cut or copy. same thing when you PASTE it. OPTION>EDIT TEXT> PASTE.
telstra here in australia are now flogging this grossly over priced nokia n85 phone.
with a keyboard not much bigger than a postage stamp, why would you bother.
thats for a start.
given the swollen asking price, this indeed is a very ordinary product.
there much, much better valued phones out there than the nokia n85.
Most nokia phones today, including the N85 are manufactured in China. I am on my 3rd China made US version of the N85. The earpiece on all of them keep going bad!! Nokia keeps giving me a replacement! They are killing me. The hardware is made of cheap plastic and the camera performance is not as good as SE. The OLED screen is beautiful and the Symbian software has more usability than SE's proprietary software. The phone is pretty decent all around...when the earpiece works!!

my gf bought this unit two weeks ago but now the camera button is deactivated as a shortcut for the camera application...the first time we used it, it is still working as a shortcut button but now, no more...i mean, it still works to take pictures or videos if you open the camera in the menu or by opening the camera cover but not as a shortcut to open the camera...does anyone have any idea on how to activate it again as a shortcut button to open the camera application??? please help!!! thanks in advance!!!
Can anybody tell, what is ram size of this phone, and can some one compare n85 with e55 plz.
sh1t guys, i'm about to buy this phone. i've so much research and i've read nothing but great reviews for this thing. i've never paid this much for a phone. ARGH!!!! should i buy it?
Peterr, 26 Mar 2009Is there a difference between the USA and the international version...besides the charger adapter?the difference is the 3G frequencies. For instance, In US, it's 850MHZ and 900MHZ in Philippines. If you are in the Philippines using a US version phone and you are trying to make a video call locally, then it won't work since it requires 3G. But you can still make a phone call & texting using GSM network.
i have an N82 euro version or made in finland so it's 3G signal is not working here in US. Philippines and Europe(some countries maybe?) phone has the same frequencies.
I got US version of N85 & N958GB but there's no phone company that offers video calls, they got 3G network though.
****
N82 & N95 8GB outstands N85 when it comes to camera/image quality but overall N85 is the BEST especially video quality.
i also have a n85, i am takin my g/f who i have only met 2 barca an we while go site seein as i believe this is romantic, im lookin forward to using my 5mp cam, im so exciting
yes binky i know what you mean i have a nokia myself i think its the 3330 but i have no camera i am oldddd....
im always hands on, i so love this phone me and my boyfriend both have one, i enjoy taking pictures of him and him of me. the camera is fanstatic :-)
Can anybody tell me N85 supports 16Gb memory card? Will it be lag or slower if i upgrade my existing 8Gb to 16Gb?Anyway my comments for this phone is i been using for few weeks since this is a great phone with advance features lik N96..Go for it if u wan a fair big screen with loads of fuctionality.
Hi Everyone !!!
Grate phone i ever use because i'm a PDA user but now i move to this phone,
if your planing to buy this phone i highly recommend you all, this time nokia add some more features and the battery life is so good sounds & the headset is superb also i use h.264 format for my videos the video is giving super natural look it's great but the main disadvantage is the camera not giving super quality as i wish but the pictures are almost super in daytime and the navi key is not sensitive but if you scroll smoothly on the navi square you can feel the difference also this phone is S60V3 so it contains a new file type(.sisx) but it recommend some .sis files too and this phone comes with MIDP 2.1(JAVA) so it will recommend mostly new JAVA games overall this is my best phone, you can get more experience with using this new N85....
Have A Great Day !

' n85 doesnt have a pencil key, so its the copy paste function gone? everyone says that hash key replaces the pencil key, but some say that it doesnt allow to copy paste the text.. so what exactly it is? can n85 copy paste the text?'

sajan, 25 Mar 2009bro go for samsung omnia which is much expensieve than nokia n85 if u want a multimedia phone... moreohh man!! u made me evn more confuse now..
ok fine, the n95 is out now.. but now m confused between these two phones, n85 n samsung pixon (not c905 cuz its about 30000 INR, out of my reach) but these two are of same range.. now m soo cunfused cuz pixon provides me wid touchscreen n 8MP camera, but on the other hand, n85 provides me with symbian platform i.e. 3rd part applications (it rly does matter) n i can blindly trust nokia anyday, plus iv a soft corner for nokia phones cuz hv always used nokia only (so i cant say nythng abt samsung, how mush is it handy or etc)
but fully touchscreen n 8MP camera is killing me..
anyways, is this samsung pixon a symbian phone? s60? can it install 3rd part applications like nokia does (advanced device lock, ultimate call recorder, rotateme, shmessenger n etc) ??
and overall which one u prefer?
any other phones worth noticing of? in same cost range (24000 INR or $550) ??
plz reply..thanxx!!

plz reply.. thanx!!
ehtesham, 26 Mar 2009what do u think about the battery backup?/The n85 has 30hrs music playback and i did a fullscreen non-stop video test volume 90% and got 6hrs 35 minutes before the power saving mode activated..Ive had so many mobiles and done plenty of tests and this is the best ive had besides my k770i..I would say its 40% longer battery than n82 in 3g/wi-fi mode but i got 4hrs 40 mins of video on n82 and 8.5 hrs music..
The best real life test battery values above are by me and throut gsm forum but mobile-review.com do tests too
