whats with the low ratings on design/features/performance on this phone :S:S:S
the old n82 seems to have a better ranking!
But the strangest thing is that the phone still works flawlessly, even takes pictures and videos as before the fall so I dont know what to think/expect. Maybe that click could be heard from the first day I bought it, but I didnt pay attention so I didnt hear anything, and now, since it fell, I payed extra attention on every aspect of the phone and that could be the answer. To all N86 users, please listen carefully to the phone when you go from camera mode to video mode and see if youll hear some kind of a VERY quiet click. Thanks in advance!
doc, 25 Aug 2009Today I was very pissed off because the following happened- I wore my phone around my neck as ... morethat's not good...that's why i don't do that coz i always something like that might happen.
Today I was very pissed off because the following happened- I wore my phone around my neck as I always did with all my phones so far, and then, all of a sudden, the phone fell right down to concrete and now it has got a few ugly scratches. But theres one thing that concerns me more than that, now when I turn the camera on, and when I go to video mode from camera mode and vice versa, a very soft double click can be heard, its so soft that I actually have to put it on my ear to hear it but I dont know if it is a reason to worry and will my phone work properly or not. Shame on nokia to make so crappy eyelet for the lanyard!
What do you think, will Nokia announce soon new 8/12 MP phone with FM transmitter (those are the most important features to me)? I don't know if I should buy N86 or wait a little longer, because I'm a little dissapointed in N86, especially the poor retail package...
I don't think that touch screen phones are goin to replace the ones with normal buttons...not for the next 5-6 years! I think that the serious units (the non-fashion ones) will still have keypad or both keypad & touch. That's because the touchscreen phones have still a disadvantage, sometimes u need both hands to operate them! Did u ever tried to operate or type in one while driving? :) It's impossible!
fab, 25 Aug 2009This phone would've generated more hype if it was a touchscreen phone. Touchscreen phones are ... morethat is very true. touchscreen are in but it depends on what people want. i prefer hardware keypads as they just see to be more accurate to me. and yes ur combination of phones will make the flagship nokia model. N97+N86+N82 will make a winning allrounder. i, myself currently own an N82 and will be upgrading to N86. Nokia will always rule at making Symbian phones and will always be that way. never ever think of buying a SE phone as it is just a waste of money and time.
Anonymous, 24 Aug 2009sony ericsson cameras are the best you nokia fans losers you just cant wait to get a chance to... morewell im not so sure bout that. while nokia phones can last up to 2 to 3 years, all SE phones will last for about 6 months. first sliders or covers break and then the software crashes. and se makes crap phones that do not have any smartphone features. see for yourself and think about what se is doing ripping people off. nokia will always continue making top quality multimedia devices that will always shine and reign.
This phone would've generated more hype if it was a touchscreen phone. Touchscreen phones are the "IN" things now. Sooner or later, keypad-based phones will either be obsolete or considered entry-level phones only. The QVGA 2.6-inch display just doesn't cut it in this day and age. That probably is the reason why it doesn't match the market success of N82. I'm looking forward to the touchscreen version of this phone. Something like N97 + N86 + N82 = an 8MP camera phone with a xenon flash and a large touchscreen display.
i have nokia n85. and based on experience, the microusb charging port is not actually a good idea. it easily wears out. i prefer the old 2mm charging port. i'm not going to buy a phone that charges off via microusb port again.
nokia fan, 25 Aug 2009Hello people,i just wanna ask what is the Digital compass and what the nebefits from it?and wh... morethe digital compass works only with ovi maps application. the maps automatically turns into the true direction. but it's not pretty accurate though. flashlite lets you play flash contents on the web browser, say for example, youtube videos.
Hi guys, I just bought this N86, is ONE OF THE BEST. Pictures are the best of all mobile phone which a had before (S.E. W995, S.E.C902, LG gc900, Nokia N95 8Gb ....), ALSO THE VIDEO QUALITY. I just LOVE this N86, it is what I always dream to have, a good mobile phone with a very good camera. Right now I have only one problem with charging the battery ( I plug in to the socket the phone is starting to charge normally, but after 1 or 2 or 3 hours he is shoaling only 2 line at the battery level. Then I plug out and plug in again, after only 20 min. the level of battery is full).
And the battery life is not more then 2 days.
If somebody Know about this battery problem, please put here some ....
SORRY for my English level...
Thank you very mach
