I really heart my N86, here are some of my takes after 2 days of usage :
- No more White Color, Nokia decide to stick with Indigo Black. Actually the real set is much nicer looking than the photo of it.
- Very nice dark silver rim frame.
- nice button to text, better than N85/N96
- camera is better than the legendary N82, its 8mp
now except no Xenon
- great photos of course
- fast operating system
- very solid built but it makes it heavy
- sound system not as good as N96, really.
- buggy Internet Browser, white screen sometimes
- i dun find any setting on Aperture despite what had been advertised about Variable Aperture
- No more Mail for Exchange download, but it is now integrated with Nokia Messaging, its a Hate/Love thing for me.
- Icons now follow XM 5800 style
- Active Stand is too filmsy for my liking
- very nice Digital Clock screen saver
- USB Charging doesnt seem to work from Computer, but am not sure if its because its my Apple running Windows. But N85 used to charge seamlessly.
- Not as loud as N96/N95 series, perhaps it was meant to be a Camera type rather than Multimedia
That's all for now.
Despit some of its short-coming, I'm loving it.

plwh888, 07 Jun 2009I have got my N86 yesterday. photos and mini review : http://plwh888.livejournal.com/81978... moreWhere did you buy this phone from? I presume the Middle or Far East? Why are they (new phones) released in that part of the world first and not in Europe or the US? I know this is a selfish thought. I currently have the Nokia 5800. I'll be getting this phone when released in the UK. I've heard it will be 22nd July. That seems like light years away. I need buttons again and can't deal with this Touch Screen stuff anymore. The Nokia 5800 is an excellent phone though and has given me no problems. It has never frozen on me. What is interesting is that Nokia have increased the price of the 5800 from £249 (the price I prurchased it for) to £299. I presume demand must be high. I had a Nokia N95 8 GIG last year which I regret selling and this will compensate for that. I almost got an Ericson W995. Nokia are the best and I will be happy. For those moaning about the looks and even the camara, you are too shallow. The iphone looks like a trophy girlfriend but it is useless and I will never get it. The new iphone to be released in July/August and will have just a 3.2MP camara. I am not even tempted. Nokia for life.

thus camera phones rang bells lately? not anymore...
Nokia will be very angry now, with the others showing movement in the market an Nokia still trailing, for years they were way ahead of the others ,but now lost momentum in the modern times,i think its been more thinking about catching up in the Touchscreen Market then there Camera mobile market that as it Nokia,so they better start speeding up there release of mobiles or they will lose loads of its fanatics,Nokia stop announcing your mobiles to early as its very annoying waiting for the release of them ,Samsung annpounce theres an 2 weeks later it released but Nokia it takes 6 months alately totally wrong

JS is right. It's released in Singapore. If you need concrete proof, head to https://www.singtelshop.com/ (it's one of Singapore's local phone service providers), go to Mobile Phones, the N86 on page 3.
Can somebody explain me why this phone has so low ratings? Nokia N85 is 10th overall, and this phone is like N85, only with more memory and more MP, so it should be rated even better then N85
Plz don't buy this phone be coz it doesn't include xenon flash. Screen size is small.Plz buy Samsung attractive & Stylish phone. Samsung offering xenon flash, led flash and 12 mega pixel camera, video 720x480, 3.1 size screen. Which wasn't available at Nokia Phone. So nokia phone is backdated. Plz don't buy it.

It's Nokia's first camera phone to have an 8 megapixel sensor, but at the same time it features both multiple aperture settings and a mechanical shutter (uncommon features by the standards of camera phones), and a Carl Zeiss lens with a wide angle of view (28mm equivalent).
This is far superior to any current 12MP phone like Satio/Idou or Pixon12/Unpacked.
